U should have made the border of the same color. It had an effect when looking at the photos.

The gray background frame of the p30 makes the contrast look better. Why didn't you make both of the photo frames the sa same color

I agree with most of the review except for the zoom part, it's not just for the moon, I live in an area where lots of birds species live, this a situation where you'd die to have a good zoom camera, I also visited Africa last year and I was so desperate to take good pictures of wild animals without jeopardizing my life, so zoom camera isn't just for moon pictures, some people may find it useful, I agree not all people, but for those who need this feature I'm ready to give up on the better processing of the S10 in favor of the great zoom and low light capabilities. The s10 is good but the price ! I can't afford and the battery isn't good as p30 , I better go for p30 . In my country p 30 price is 669$ and galaxy s10 is 899$ .

Whats happen if you change the photo size in p30 from 40mp to a lower size or to 12mp like in s10 then compere it with s10 photo ??

You can edit the blur in Huawei devices after shot, when you use aperture mode not portrait mode, and it's been there since mate 9

I'd also be interested in a comparison of RAW images and using other apps (ABC, Open Camera) to see if other apps may produce better photos.

Thanks for this review. Everone focuses on the "Plus" models, and I really wanted this comparison. The only criticism I have is for the background having diferent colors. The grey on one side and white on the other doesn't help comparing small diferences.

My main consideration was the price point. At retail your looking at a price diff or more than 5k and if you were able to pre-order the p30 you get a free 13k watch which you could opt to sell as well. So there would be a price diff of around 15k or more

What about audio quality in video recordings? I found S10 takes 256kbps, but no info nowhere about P30. I often take shots in concerts and it's a common drag the reviews never talk about audio

i ordered the p30 with free huawei watch gt. dont want to spend lot of money on gadgets, we all know that after a year, the price will decrease in value.

S10 is way much better in terms of screen n camera. But HUAWEI is better in battery life and system speed. Price wise, HUAWEI is more cost effective. The reason why I don't want switch from S8 to p30 is becos I really like samsung's high definition screen.

P30 or mate 20 pro? I really don't know which one to choose. I like the details on p30 camera, too bad for stabilization but it also works good I checked on some videos. The battery is good on boot, the processor too. The P30 has the audio Jack. The wireless is not important for me. Maybe sin on impermeability, but it's also a little particular. There are very few videos on the P30 not pro version. The price here in Italy between the two phones is almost the same.. Any advice on choice?

If only the p30 shared the same camera sensors with the p30 pro...such a stupid move from Huawei. A 750 euros phone is far from cheap. At least keep the same 40mp high quality sensor on the main camera. Cheap on the wide and telephoto if nessesary. The s10e costs less than the p30 and shares the same camera sensors with the s10 and s10 pro. It just comes with 2 instead of 3. Who gives a fuck about the 2x optical telephoto anyways? 2x digital is fine.

The different background colour (the dark grey & white) made it harder to focus on the differences of the pictures.. it’s optic 101, light colour picture would look stand out fr the dark background & dark colour picture would look stand out with light background.

Across all photos, the S10 gives better contrast and colors while the P30 boosts details. Both are great shooters nonetheless 💗 (P30 night mode still blows my mind 😂)

S10 for me too. A 6s exposure isn't something you'll want to use frequently. Need a tripod or mount for that sort of thing. Same applies to the zoom. It's a nice feature but also not something most would use frequently. You'll get more from the better dynamic range of the s10 in day to day use. Many in the tech world have just gone overboard with these sorts of niche features

Having tried both, I sticked to my S10. P30 wins in overall camera performance though. I'm not wholly into camera so I chose the S10. It depends really on your preference. If you prioritize ingress protection (IP), micro sd expandable storage, and awesome display, as well as more useful features, go for the S10.

S10 all the way, i dont think 10x and 50x zoom will be that very useful, p30 shoots great in low light but yet again you shouldnt be shooting photos in the dark anyway. Even pro photographers know that and will use a flash to light up their subjects. Wide angle, day time photo,selfies, and video goes to the s10, p30 isnt far behind though. Smartphone cameras today are pretty neck and neck. Awesome video!

After a year of using p30. I would say that s10 feels dated within a year. Whereas p30 still is rocking bith camera wise and processor speed wise.
