the genuine leather was meant to use in non exercise environment, for excercises use the black silicon like strap. Leather will be stained with perspiration or sweat and eventually will wear out if not used correctly. Its in the manual of GT2 under care and maintenance page. Hope it helps!

Fantastic video Linus. The most impressive thing to me is the battery life. The GT Watch 2 lasting 10 days is amazing. I don't mind charging my watch 3 times in a month. Thumbs up given 😉👍

Thanks for the info Linus. I'm here in the US and I use a Huawei Mate 20X. I Bought a Garmin Vivoactive3 but returned it due to the battery drain is so rapid even with the key functions turned off. I had to go back to my 1st Gen Vivoactive for now. It pains me to jump ship to the GT2 after all the Garmin devices I purchased to sync with my watch. Garmin foot pod, chest HRM, bike speed and Cadence sensor. I just hope the exercise experience and performance is top-notch. That really matters to me. Since the GT2 is not sold here in the US I'll probably have to go through AliExpress or eBay but I want I totally black watch so I have to check and see if they have that model available once again thanks a lot for your review. Yeah I decided to buy a Huawei GT2. It's not the ultimate smart watch but battery life is a pet peev. The work out options it has has more than I would use. I like it. Plus I like the 1.39 size display, add music, and receive calls on it. What I wish it could do is respond to SMS msg. and better active display watch faces.

Have mode capture stress (Huawei TruRelax) to remind the user breathe-out rhythm and try to relax. Also has a digital compass, has told the weather, flashlight, notification from the mobile, set the alarm and also helps to find phone

Im curious ... does this watch base its caloric burn rate off HR during a workout and also through the day? I noticed some trackers/watches simply just base the caloric burn rate off the Type of activity selected using some static algo for that Type of activity ... and on my garmin VA3 at least, I know w/o a doubt it bases its caloric burn rate off HR(and maybe on other things as well). I wont consider any other type of wearable unless it bases the calories burned on HR at minimum. I have the samsung gear sport as a comparison to my garmin VA3 and ... the gear sport definitely only calculates calories burned based on what type of Activity you select for a workout, its ridiculous. Another question, is the battery life you state w/ screen always on?? if so thats freaking insanely awesome!

I have used Garmin all the time. Can you sync all activities etc here to Garmin Connect? Strava? Endomondo? I am now looking at Garmin Venu. Looks really nice, but totally different price and battery life.

What about the currentl situation between huawei and google. Is it easy enough to download the huawei app gallery in order to get the updated versions of the HMS and health apps? The watch itself seems pretty rad and way cheaper than the competition.

Great review, tbh the watch has a beautiful screen and bezel but I absolutely hate those lugs they are a bit too long and bulky, somehow they kill the look of the watch

Any idea how this watch functions in open water? It's ATM5 and marketed as a swimming / triathlon watch, but I can't find any info about GPS accuracy. Also not about how the touchscreen reacts when wet.

Thanks, Daniel! The best overall would be the Apple Watch 5 but it requires an iPhone. It works seamlessly and it's packed with features and it's got the most accurate sensors. Alternatively, Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is one of the best as well but it's got a much worse battery life than the Huawei watch. Still, I would pick the Samsung watch as the best for Android.

I'm using it for a few weeks already (aluminum version). I'm still waiting for my stainless steel LTE model to arrive! I'm also testing the Apple Watch 5, Garmin Fenix 6S Pro, Fitbit Versa 2, Garmin Venu... I'm swamped with smartwatches right now haha! I'm looking for a perfect one myself!

I don't think the normal GT will get any of these features in the future. It has older hardware which won't work simular as the GT 2. You might get software updates and changes, but the hardware stays the same.

So I'm having problem with the straps like I can't change it. Is there any tutorial on how to put the band back and take it off, like the only issue I have right now is that I can't but the band back on the watch. Can someone please give me instructions on how to put the band on and off because I have seen many people review the watch and they just put it on and off without tools. I did this and now I can't put it back no matter which band I am using. Having the GT2.
