It's great to see you two working together sorting out the keep, store, sell and bin piles. It really is so easy to end up having stuff from years (or decades in my case) that we no longer need or want. Just going through my loft from time to time I find stuff that was stored for what was new stuff under warranty that expired a while back that really needs rehoming away from my loft.

I am myself, something of a hoarder, but that was somewhat horrifying! You seem to have a lot of spare tools and I would suggest you make up a number of kits that can permanently live in the various vehicles. I've done this for years and although I've rarely of ever had to use it on one of my own vehicles, I've often dipped in to help others.

There's certainly a lot of recyclable material in that junk pile - the cardboard and magazines spring immediately to mind. This is something I seriously need to do myself - and be brutal with it too. I hope you find homes for the stuff going to Beaulieu: sadly these days my other interest seems to have a lot of people with short arms and long pockets shuffling by like the undead...

It's quite therapeutic decluttering stuff you no longer need. A few weeks ago I sold my late father's quart size oil pourer which I'm sure dates to the mid 20th century for £50. I haven't carried out an oil change myself in years so it's surplus to requirements. Mentioned it in a post on the "Open" section of the sweary car forum. One thing you could do after clearing the space is have a few tubs to store spares for each member of the fleet. It might help keep things a bit organised.

Nice progress in going through this stuff. I was surprised to see that Finnish Citroen booklet, nice one :) I have some car magazines too, but no plans to get rid of them, at least the 80's magazines. Might let some more modern ones go at some point, I should go through them, but I'll keep at least ones which have anything about cars I've had. Problem is, there was always some reason, interesting car or otherwise interesting article in them, to buy them in the first place so it's difficult to decide, what to let go :P

Is getting a skip a big deal in the UK? A few times I've had one here in NZ, and random people come past and ask "Where did you get that from?" as though it's a mystery, and in the dead of night people come out and throw their rubbish in. It causes so much interest I thought you could organise a street party around getting a communal skip and letting people come out in the daylight with all the old stuff they've had lying around for years. Have a cake stall and some coffee and meet the neighbours, and celebrate one of the cult objects of the modern world. It feels really good making offerings to St Detritus.
@emmajacobs557520 күн бұрын
It’s not a big deal, but it’s not cheap, so you often get other people throwing their random crap in (and others taking your random crap out) Sadly, because of the cost, there’s quite a bit of illegal fly-tipping goes on, usually in countryside beauty spots 😕

@TurboTimsWorld21 күн бұрын
@@HubNut LOL I not a betting man, so you have the car to hand and I only have 2 on the books at work and one of those is fully electric, so my reason for disagreeing with you is Crankcase pressure needs to be JUST about negative if not the crank seals blow out, (yes the broken one way valve) but its a turbo so the breather pipes need to be air filter side of the turbo so negative pressure zone. the brake servo requires full vacuum so when boosting the valve shuts and deceleration the valve opens and sucks the air out of an accumulator ready for the servo. (also you normally take you foot of the go peddle to push the stop so the throttle flap shuts and creates vac at that port), If it was diesel it would have a Vac pump. your fuel regulator feeds from the same port area so take your foot off the go and the valve gets sucked open to dump fuel pressure back to the tank. I know you have a busy weekend (and you film in advance and I now look a prat as you fixed it last week) Im busy this weekend on a Diagnostic course with James Dillon 12hours auto electronics training on a Saturday after a 50hr week, Love the videos best wishes and I do have a HubNut sticker on the back of my Land Rover xxx
