It is very apparent. Since I moved to the U.S. I have learned that American schools do not ask kids in school what they want to be at all. So in college I saw most of my peers struggling to find purpose and what they wanted to study. By the time I was in 3rd grade (different country) I already knew what I wanted to do. And I am literally doing it now.

Yes! Agreed. There is another video that I like on this from Align and Inspire. It is the first video on this that I have seen that actually gave me some relief and clarity about this. Part of what she says is that we can "Live the Question" (which kind of means there is no “right” answer to this question and it is the way we live that brings meaning). You may want to check it out.

Jay I have been watching you for 3 months now. I have to say you are very inspirational. You asked what I'm good at? I was in nursing for 19 years and loved taking care of others specifically the elderly. I had to give up nursing, I'm disabled now. The things I learned in nursing like love, compassion, etc. I have carried it over into my everyday life. Nursing was Passion. Always will be.

One thing I did wrong with finding what I love was focusing too much on the end result or the good times. But to really find what we love we have to focus mostly on the process not the result! We have to love doing it when it gets hard and we have to at least be OK with the little things we have to do in between to do the things we love. Hope it makes sense. :)

thanks jay, im at this point in life where im very pretty lost. i have a good career and i like what i do, but i have recently started to question the core purpose of it. i feel like i was passionate about it 100% which i started but now that i think about it theres only about 20% left. I wanted to make a difference, to impact something or someone and i feel like i havnt. so I'm at this point where i have to drag myself out of bed for something i once loved doing.. and it scared the crap out of me. listening to you has made me question my choices and think deeply on what i realy want to do. so thanks for doing this for me. you have this dream and purpose in life to help people like myself and its so inspiring! you dont even know who i am and you did this video to inspire me! to help me, so thanks so very much!!

Thank you Jay Shetty, You just taught me somethings that are so valuable - Finding the meaning of passion, getting to know the space that I fit into as a reserved person, mostly task oriented but also driven by what people would like and want from me. You made certain unnoticed, confused ideas, so clear. I'm really grateful. Thank you. I just don't have words to explain how happy I am, to actually be able to find the hidden meaning behind simple but powerful words like passion, mission, element, environment and energy. I also realised that I am not only a collective but also a supportive person. I asked my friends how I impact them, n got some responses which actually mean so much to me. I was able to rebuild those lost relationships with a few really close friends who had drifted apart. Yeah btw, your eyes!! They're gorgeous. Thank you.

I'm reserved but I feel and have been told that I'm inspiring or I inspire people, but I'm also very supportive, is that crazy or what does it mean I'm just a lost cause?

Brilliant, Im thinking about becoming a health and wellness coach using classical hatha yoga, meditation, pranayama, and nutrition to help people deal with physical chronic ailments, mental health issues like depression and stress, and helping people with fitness/weight loss. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

That sounds so exciting! I am passionate about health and wellness and I have an evergrowing interest in nutrition and dietary habits and exercise, mental and spiritual health and growth. I have spent many years observing different types of research, videos and suggestions. I've also been experimenting a lot on my own, trial and error of course. It has been a beautiful journey as I've come to learn how to implement effective and successful dietary, exercise and meditation regimes in my life. I follow a lot of great speakers including Jay Shetty and I never cease to be inspired! As a result I've decided to start my own KZfaq Channel, REVITALIZE FROM THE INSIDE OUT, to share my journey, problems and solutions and the experience of it all with the hope that others might have something to gain from the content. I hope to receive a lot of feedback and to continue learning from others. I wish you all the best Kush and please keep us updated and perhaps you could share your knowledge on KZfaq!!! I would love to hear about it!

I think my ikigai (a Japanese concept which translates to "reason for being") is writing, but I'm not confident enough to share my works with anyone because I am my own worst critic. I feel like my writings are never good enough. Until I approve of my own writing, I should keep them hidden in the dark. This is the kind of mindset I used to have. I don't know why I'm letting it out now. People tell me I have good skills in writing, even all my teachers in English subject have told me I have potential, but I was too coward and lack the self-esteem. As soon as I see someone whose writing is better than mine, I feel discouraged and feel like I should stop writing. I still get confused sometimes. Along my journey, I studied peacekeeping in high school. It just sort of happened. I didn't study in that school because I wanted to, but because I had no choice at that time. I didn't know I would enjoy my time there. Surprisingly, I found everything interesting and exciting. I met some really awesome people too. I felt a sense of belonging there. What made me feel drawn to the semi-military lifestyle? Am I pursuing this career to follow the footsteps of my father, uncle, and late grandfather? Or am I taking this path because it's something that my heart wants to follow? Somehow, it just happened. I came into realization when I was in one of the lists of the students who were about to get transferred because of coming late to school. I still remember the feeling. I was so upset and sad with the thought that I'll no longer be a part of peacekeeping. I felt a strong ache in my heart, as I told myself not to cry, that everything will be fine. Sometimes when everything seems to be falling apart, they may actually be falling right into place. That moment made me realize what I wanted to do in the future. And that's why I am pursuing my dream academy. I feel like writing is a gift. It's something valuable to me, something that the world can never take away from me. It's my tool to express myself. It's more than just a hobby or a potential career. To me, writing is a part of who I am, a part of life. While this career I am pursuing, is like an adventure, it's full of excitement and passion to be of service.

I just realized that I am reserved and people-oriented. I am so glad he made that distinction between “outgoing” and “people oriented” because before I knew I had good people skills but I wasn’t exactly comfortable being very talkative and presenting myself. I have recently completed my degree in Human Resources Management and he was saying that supportive people are good mediators, and good at making sure the team is working well together. That’s so me!! I’m very excited to see what I can do in my career path as a HR Manager.
