that "modular rules" thing is kinda how i was taught anyway. at the local game shop, your first game is often just for learning the basic mechanics of moving, shooting, fighting, etc. and you slowly add new layers of rules until you get familiar with everything. pretty intuitive

tbh, I've really liked the combat patrol format in 40k. All the games I've played have felt fun and balanced. often thing are only decided on that very last turn! Plus, after day at work at quick easy game of dice throwing really hits the spot and I dont have to worry about hauling too much around with me.

I wish that morale will work like in the lotr in the past. If your army is breaked which means that you lost at least half of your army you have to check at the beginning of each turn how many soldiers just fled from battle

I hate that rend (and AP in 40k are negative instead of positive). Everyone if Save 4+ and rend -1, opponent needs to roll a 5+. Clarify how 🎉the rule is written. It should state that the opponent adds your rend modifier stat to his save stat, and then has to roll a dice equal to or higher than his new modified save stat in order to make a save. Currently, it's written roll a dice, minus opponents rend stat from rhe dice, and that has to be equal to or higher than his save star. It's the same thing to pass a save, just written more clearly.
