Come along for some back breaking work as I try to relocate a 6000 pound maple log from my buddy's house downtown Lisbon, Ohio to my log cabin on the hill with only a flour jack and a 1949 Farmall cub and a log arch. also using my new Stihl ms 462 chainsaw.

I couldn’t agree more, I’m a 67-year-old female retiree, alone with a lot of home projects required and heating my home with my woodstove requires alot, alot of working with wood. If you want a safe, happy and nurturing home you just have to get things done on your own and with a lot of prayer it’s amazing the things I do, God bless all of us.

Wish that we were neighbors Jerry. I do so many things alone, almost everything in fact. Just ruptured my Achilles two weeks ago doing something alone that I shouldn’t have been. I think that we’d be kindred spirits brother and a great help to one another but all the help that I can offer at this distance (Jackson county,Ohio) is my prayers.

A couple 3 years ago a LARGE pine was blown over in a wind storm. I cut out 8' foot lengths and used an Alaska Mill to cut planks from them. What a stack of usable lumber from one tree. The base was 34-36" in diameter, and used every inch of the 36" bar on the chainsaw to get through it. The base was cut into 5" thick rounds and I turned one slab into a live-edge round table with an epoxy top. It is amazing what can be made from one large tree that God gives after a storm. Sure do enjoy your videos. I do understand your pain. My little tractor amazes me with what I've asked of it over the years too. Stay blessed.

Use caution. Yard trees are usually a no no for sawing. Most have nails or other metal in them. I agree it would be nice to some help on jobs that would be safer with a little help. If your anything like me you have given lots of free help to friends and neighbors on there projects. The funny thing is most all of them have very short memories for paying back with some help for you!

You need to start charging people for removing their trees… It cost me over $3000 per oak tree to have cut down and then another $1000 to dispose of them because nobody wanted them. The trees were way bigger than the one you cut, and I could only keep the upper parts for firewood.
