They waited 7 months for this "big announcement"? They have to be trolling their 5000 remaining players

PC players are pissed. There was no update or anything directed towards existing players. AGS pretended like it was brand new game and have marketed it as an Action RPG rather than an MMO.

New World Master Crafter, enjoyed the game a lot up to about Lvl 65 content. What they show doesn't look much different from 18 months ago when I quit due to lack of support for communities.

I have yet to see a positive comment anywhere myself included this was a pretty big slap to the face from the devs to the current player base. We were unpaid beta testers and just got fired.

This move should triple New Worlds population.

Difficult to say since they haven't said much. IMO, to work on console a lot of UI related stuff would need to change, like them cutting items down to 1/3rd of what we have and what gets dropped. Far more time consuming to do inventory management on console than a keyboard and mouse. I also wonder if they will change end-game into mainly PvE, they seem to like the trials a lot and I am not sure wars will work on console (they barely work (IMO) on PC). It is good to hear it will continue to get worked on for at least another year but that trailer wasn't enough to get me excited (as someone who still plays from time to time) (EDIT: some more info is out and so at least a little more is coming PCs way, still, rather underwhelming)

That could be neat, but alpha 2 will already be out. I do like seeing mmos and mobas coming to console though.

I know me and a ton of my friends have been wanting a new MMO on consoles as the current ones are meh. I'm sure a lot of others feel the same way so I'm expecting a large player spike.

Am open to try a new mmo on xbox but if there are pre orders, clearly it's not free nor is it on gamepass. I hope their entry price is low to bring in as many people as possible. If it's a full AAA price, this likely means they will fail.

the rebrand is not enough. new world will always be known as that game that bricked gpus and had a lot of dupe glitches. ags has a terrible reputation too so even if a potential new customer isn't aware of the awful pc launch, the developer's name alone is enough to raise alarms. i doubt the console port will be very succesful, the announcement didn't seem to have left any impression at all in most gaming communities.

well in less then an hour the New World steam page went from mostly positive reviews to mostly negative. This is definitely not enough and if I'm being real here its a slap in the face of whats left of the current PC community. utterly disrespectful to tell your current community, "Hey we know you have been waiting 3 months for a big update to fix a lot of the issues Season 5 brought but you are gonna have to wait 3 more months before you get anything. Oh and by the way we aren't giving you much of anything so deal with it."

Time to squeeze some $$$$ from solo gamers.
