Huge Tornado Strikes in Finleyville, Pennsylvania Leaving Homes and Property Damaged

In Finleyville, Pennsylvania, severe weather left behind extensive damage from hail, powerful winds, and a tornado landfall. Videos and pictures show the destruction, with fallen trees and broken objects all over the place. Trax Farms and a church in Washington County are among the areas damaged. Jefferson Hills residents report seeing tornadoes, and storm damage is reported in portions of Washington County and southern Allegheny. The National Weather Service announces that a tornado touched down in Finleyville and that teams would be sent to survey the damage the next day. When night falls and there are reports of severely damaged dwellings, the public safety team of Washington County is called upon. There are widespread tornado warnings in the area, and thousands of people in Beaver and Allegheny counties are without power due to power outages.

I'm from Finleyville, and although there was some damage done to homes, and lots of trees and sheds, thankfully nobody was killed. A few minor injuries. 🙏

I live 4 miles away from Finley vile. Even though this is not a major tornado, this video shows that tornadoes can and do hit southwest Pa. Some people still think that hills will protect them.

@@AllenTax No, a tornado went up Yellowstone Mtn and destroyed the cabins. A tornado in 1985 went through the mountainous terrain of the Allegheny National Forest and mowed down every tree.

This is my hometown. The tornado touched down a half mile from my home. This has never happened before in this little town. Luckily nobody was killed. Mother Nature is no joke.

It’s a dangerous storm, but this tornado is far from huge. Even though Pennsylvania doesn’t get hit very often, the 1985 outbreak produced an EF5, causing far worse, extensive damage and numerous fatalities.

Maybe thd southeast. Tornados here in PA are still very rare. Largly due to the influence of the Appalachians and the lack of opportunity to get unimpeded warm moist southern inflow colliding with cold fronts caused by jet stream dips. Most of our severe weather is straight line linear mode systems or blobby mid summer pop up thunderstorms.

😂😂 so you enjoy the Midwest tornadoes or the south? I'm from NC state where tornadoes there are quadruple what they are here in PA. I've onky been here since 2001. The rest of my time was in NC state. East of Raleigh. Also known as tornado alley. It's mostly all flat where I lived. So in open fields they pick up speed which is super devastating!

I live and grew up in Finleyville which is about 15 miles sw of Pittsburgh. Anyways, there were 2 tornadoes according to NWS, F1 and F2. So no, not big, thank God, but a rarity here. No lives lost, and a few minor injuries. Mostly trees, roofs, sheds, tele poles, power etc...

I have to wonder at the insanity of the people who fist pump, laugh and cheer on a tornado. Until it destroys their lives. Sometimes permanently. It's as if its one big video game3. People get hurt or killed in tornados, lives come to a stop and extreme loss is felt. There's no wins against a tornado. No reason to cheer such a monster.

Grew up in Pittsburgh's south hills. My aunt & uncle were about a mile away from that tornado! Crazy!! How many tornadoes has Pittsburg, Kansas seen this year? Pittsburgh (vicinity) was hit with at least 4 or 5 within a week, including this one!

I see a little damage, but these folks have never experienced a real tornado. This is super minor damage. The smallest tornado I've ever been through was an F3, the worst I've experienced was an F4. So an F0, F1, F2 ain't nothing compared to an F3 or higher. Lol, this place is still on the map yet. If an F3 or bigger ripped through like i have experienced, this place wouldn't exist on the map anymore

Tornadoes have existed long throughout History in America and around the World.. you wouldn't think that these people actually know what kinds of Tornadoes exist in the United States..they are mostly likely well aware of the more devastating Tornadoes that have occurred in the U.S just as recently in the Midwest and upper Ohio Valley!! No one actually wants to experience a Tornado at all less know if it was the Weakest to the Strongest and to suggest that their damage is Minor compared to being wiped off the Map is idiotic in my view..fact is that they had a Tornado regardless of it's Strength..I don't think anyone in that Town that suffered any form of Damage was suggesting or even thinking about the Power of the Tornado! Did you make any comments to anyone in Sulphur City Ok, or Elkhorn Nebraska or Portage Michigan!? Americans are well aware of Tornadoes that strike throughout the Year on any given Day... don't Rub it in their Nose that they did not suffer Catastrophic Damage..we should just be thankful for hopefully no loss of life! The Residents of Pennsylvania also know that it's not so likely that EF-3 to EF-5 would occur in that part of the Northeast..so your 2¢ information is probably not welcomed! Just a hope everyone is ok would have been better than suggesting that they escaped a Doomsday Scenario!!

They mean as we don't really get them often so this is not something most of us are prepared for. I've never seen a tornado in my area for 30 years til last year when it touched down right next to us and destroyed the house 4 houses down. Never even saw a funnel form and never seen hail the size of softballs. Is this a new norm for Pennsylvania? I truly hope not.

Mostly all I see is a bunch of downed trees and powerlines down. So roughly around a few hundred thousand dollars worth of damages. 1 rich person could cover that. It ain't like you have millions or billions of dollars worth of damages like the south and Midwest lol. I mean all the houses and buildings i see here are still standing and on their foundation yet. So in my opinion i don't see any serious damages here. Give the homeless people a chainsaw and get them to help clean up all the downed trees. Within a couple months this place will be back to normal. Just think Pennsylvania folks, just imagine if this tornado was like the ones in the south and Midwest. What would you do next? Now you can talk about significant damages worth millions and billions of dollars to repair that place
