I love the Silent buffs for shivs. As fun as poison can be, Shivs (like Claw for the Defect) are just a blast to play once they get going! Edit: Had a Wrist Blade starting relic run the other day - triple Accuracy, double Blade Dance and double Cloak and Dagger. Most fun I've had with a deck since my double Echo Form, double Buffer, Creative AI run in December.

What was the calculation he did? I would do 14*14 in my head by long multiplication but I don't understand how 14*15 is any easier?

I had a successful run with Silent the other day where I got an early Akebeko and Skewer so I hunted down a Chem X. Ended up getting 3 Maialise by the end of the run too, so the heart just didn't do damage. Silliest thing I've had happen in this game and I probably wouldn't have known how to properly hunt for Chem X if not for following Jorbs on the KZfaq.

Think he was still comfortable there. 43 incoming. Could still kill atleast one (-17 damage), ink bottle drew defend + upgrade pot (+5 health) + footwork ( -11 damage), Neutralize (-4). In total negating 37 damage leaving him at 28 hp. Wouldn't end the run, but obviously wraith form was much better lol, especially considering how bad the next hand was.

It's very very strong in almost every case and even when it isn't it's not substantially worse than any of the base relics (albeit Silent's is probably the best of them)

Hope it’s not too late to respond. Jorbs pays a lot of attention to his relics, so typically he’s trying to set one up (in this case, Ink Bottle) for the next fight to give himself an early advantage.

Jorbs plays on the hardest difficulty level, Ascension 20. Each Ascension progressively tweaks the game to make it harder and is unlocked by beating the previous Ascension (or base game). Ascension 11 is where you lose a potion slot. For more: slay-the-spire.fandom.com/wiki/Ascension

I enjoy in sts when you get something extremely strong, but you need to walk tightly around it to use that power correctly so you don't lose still, you cant just fuck off and play anything and win on A20 or even A1, even with silent discard decks, dead branch corruption, and so on, in fact, those decks are the most tiresome decks to play imo.
