I agree with a lot of the feedback from Twitch. There is a lot of dead time in the typical spire run that can definitely be edited down, but I feel like the cuts here were a little too aggressive. In particular, one of the things I find really compelling about your runs is understanding why you make the decisions that make the run successful, so that context of what other cards you had or what the overall map looks like is helpful. Preserving the actual conversations with chat and the humor is done really well though, and the graphics and zooms make a huge difference. If a run was cut down to 10-15m rather than 6m I think it would be better.

I agree with this a lot. I think that something similar to the edited run shown could work well for a "highlight reel" for particularly funny or cool moments that happened over the course of several runs, but for recapping a single run it feels like there's not a lot of time to breathe or let the funny moments linger. I'd really love using something akin to this format for a highlight reel of funny moments every now and then though.

Yes, I guess it depends on the *purpose* of the edit. The edit here seemed to be mostly about the funny / lulz, an edit for the reasoning / learning would be a *very* different result, but no less interesting. The edit might be significantly longer though, especially when @jorbs breaks out the pen and excel.

Pretty much this. A little aggressive on the cuts and a little jarring in comparison to what we're used to. Highlight reel is a good idea. So is toning it down a little, i.e keeping the pace a little slower and the length a little longer. Keep it a little closer to actual twitch reality. I wouldn't be opposed to something in the 20-40 minute range with a lot of dead air cut out while keeping most of the reasoning and conversation intact.

I actually feel like this concept would work better on a game like XCOM. It works fine for StS, but with XCOM you only really need to know a few key upgrades or rewards from the strategic layer, and most battle really only have a few decisive moments from the viewers POV. In StS, your resources and tools can change dramatically over just a few floors, and you’ll always be wondering if you might have missed something really cool. I get that the whole point is highlighting the coolest moments, but it still feels rushed, even having seen the particular run you showcased unedited.

I really like the idea of adding some more editing content to the youtube Jorbs scene, I just think that there's a healthier length between 1.5 hours and 6 minutes. A lot of the fun of watching a StS run is hearing your opinions and reasonings, and reacting with the chat to fun parts. the editing isn't bad, but maybe would better in a 15-20 minute vid with important focused sections in between smaller funny clips

Oh God yes, I didn't expect something like these edited cuts and they seem WONDERFUL. That said, I think there's no need to make so many aggressive camera switches or memes, just cut the parts when you take about 5 minutes to do nothing, or when you go the bathroom, or some of the chat stuff, and make it like 15/20 minutes. That could make it to get more than a run in a video, if you want to get them to 1 hour, or leave them like that, with 20 minutes. Thank you Jorbs for bringing this up.

I feel like most of the cuts felt like they were explaining the joke, and undercut the sarcasm and subtlety that makes Jorbs so funny naturally to me. That said over all it's not something I'd really be interested in, and would be disappointed if it ate into the daily uploads. A positive is the zoom ins on twitch chat, those are jokes I'd often normally miss.

I personally enjoy all of the aspects of watching Jorbs runs. I like to see the entire "jorbs thought process" about card choices, but I also like seeing the funny moments. The editing that was shown here seemed to focus on the funny parts, but that left out parts that I love about jorbs content. I think that I would like to see edits like this that might have clips from content that doesn't make it to KZfaq, because I already watch all of your KZfaq content. Overall, I already really like the long video format for your content, but I think these edits could be a good addition to the channel, even though I will prefer your full gameplay videos.

I liked the edited video, but I had also seen the full run on twitch. I feel like some of the charm of the jorbisms comes from understanding the context, so it felt like a series of inside jokes that I was lucky to have that context for. Felt most similar (bizarrely enough) to Nightblu3 vids: a good mix of highlights, cuts, and memes that compliments but also feels redundant to the original content!

I certainly enjoyed the 6:30min Silent video! I think it would be a great way to show off weird/interesting runs that don't quite make it to the end-game, my biggest problem with watching your runs that you don't win is that I can't feel invested for 1.5-2 hours when you lose (and I tend to spoil vids for myself to make sure you win before watching them). Bite-sized videos of your funny moments during losses seems like a perfect way for me personally to enjoy those runs :)

The edited run was for the most part well edited. The sheer number of camera jumps when jorbs is just saying a sentence was jaring. In the few minutes we saw there was 2-3 times where the camera would jump on the last word jorbs would say and it kinda just turned by brain off. The edits where it slowly zoomed in, and the one with the math across the screen where the 2 best ones imo

Thanks for sharing that edited video. Bottom line: I liked it a lot. It was skillfully done and quite funny. As someone who's watched hundreds of hours of your streams and VODs (VsOD?!?), in addition to having hundreds of hours in the game myself, I don't always feel that I actually get that much out of a full run video anymore. It can be cozy background chatter, or as so many others have noted, an excellent sleep aid. ;) But a funny highlight video like this would fit into my schedule way better, giving me all the best moments of a run plus some good jokes made by someone else! I would probably watch one daily, but if it were 1x-?x times a week for whatever reason, I wouldn't feel slighted. Thanks for all the great stuff, and kudos to your viewer who created that edit. Since we are on the subject of channel suggestions, 2 things I would like to see are: A card tracker that keeps track of the last 3 cards changes made to your deck, whether added or removed Videos that are double uploads of failed runs, that way when I click on a video its not "how does he win" but "does he win" (uploading 2 failed runs in the same video masks the length of the video, and the title would only refer to the first video)

I really like the idea of adding edited content alongside “long play” full run videos...but that said I think this editor’s efforts looked pretty amateur compared to other similar content. I definitely agree with Firebat as a point of reference. Theres tons of room to breathe in those videos, while still cutting the time significantly. Hell I could even imagine an editted long play that just cuts out the dead time in battles and runs and saves about 1/3 of the run time.

I think mostly the problem here is not the editing. Even a simpler one would work with more emotional character. Don't get me wrong, Jorbs is emotional, but his reaction is more a "silent realization" than a burst of emotion people are used to. And for uncut videos and/or streams such reaction rather sets the long-term mood instead of creating a single memorable moment, which is better. Soo... the only solutions I see are: 1. Change the style of streams; 2. Do separate "video runs" that have a different mood; 3. Change the edit style (maybe visualise the thought process?)

Comments on the edited run: As somebody who watches KZfaq Jorbs content at 3x speed, I can confirm that watching the edited content segment at 3x speed was a terrible idea. I went back and watched at 1x and here are my thoughts: - I agree with twitch chat that a lot of the cuts were jarring. I especially did not enjoy the diagonal equations flying across the screen. - I do think the edits captured some entertaining twitch Jorbs banter, which was good. - One of the things I'm looking for when I watch Jorbs is to see the decision points in the run, and for me this edit cut too many of those decision points out. It felt harder to track what was happening in the run. - At 3x speed I feel like I sort of am doing my own editing down, although not nearly as far. I tend to fly through most of the run at that speed and occasionally skip backwards to understand a decision Jorbs didn't explain, like "Why didn't Jorbs play bash on lagavulin turn 1 to have 1 vulnerable on turn 2? Oh, he has 2 strength already from Girya." type moments. This pre-edited version gives me less control over what gets skipped and what doesn't. For me as a viewer, I'd want an edit that really cuts down to every individual decision in the run, and I'm not sure such an edit is really able to cut anything meaningful. tl;dr it's a cool idea for content and I'd definitely watch the next few attempts to see how I feel about them and provide additional feedback, but my first instinct is that this wouldn't be my cup of tea.

About the edited videos: I would watch both! Being able to see the gist of a run and get some of the jokes without investing 90min into a video would be great. I'm not a huge fan of the editing (i think it could be smoother with better quality), but I think its a fantastic idea worth pursuing. I often use the longer videos to go to sleep so it would be great to see how runs develop after I've passed out the day before.

I like the edited runs idea. But I like the long form as well, it's my default background noise to put on. Too many rapid cuts, but the attention to humor and important moments is really well done! Some slight adjustment and it would be great as an addition to the twitch vods! Reminds me a lot of the wizard Steve attacks against the baldman, which were hilarious and I miss whole heartedly. Aim for the 10 minutes and everyone would benefit (I use premium so ads don't affect me personally; might be worth checking your viewer/subscriber and see what percentage use premium?). For the edited thing: Is it a summary of a run or is it a comedy representation of a run? As a comedy thing it works but is a little long for the energy it has. As a run summary, the editing is too hectic and too fast. It needs a couple more frames before and after clips to let the ideas settle in. Also the zooms need to be a bit more zoomed out in general, as it makes it hard for the eye to know where to move next (from where it was resting) Worth exploring though!

I can't say whether it's better as a 6 minute sprint or a 10-15 minute condensed run that still keeps a lot of the detail, but I thought it was really fun and I thought the comedic timing in it was very good too. I definitely want to see more and I would encourage the editor to experiment and try different lengths and format to see which feels best.

I like the new format in the sense that I would want to watch the full run after seeing that kind of preview. It seems like it would be more of a hype video for your runs. I also agree with some of the other comments saying that this would be great for games other than StS (like XCOM or Among Us) to get KZfaqrs more interested in what you're doing in your Twitch streams that isn't being uploaded or that people might have a harder time stepping into. I think it's a good idea for you to be checking out shorter-form videos, but the comments are correct that you work best as a long form streamer/KZfaqr first because your runs are so relaxing and well thought out.

Honestly, unedited Jorbs is some of the best unedited content I've seen, so I would be upset if these were to stop. That being said, edited is almost always better, even though the preview was too hectic. The algorythm would love it though, and seeing your channel grow is only a good thing.

I feel like it's really nice. I would watch them separately, but your full runs at 2x speed is what I sleep to so pls don't stop them.

A lot of people already said it. The cuts are a little harsh, but the idea of a shorter version of the runs seems really compelling.

I have two main things to say regarding the edited videos. 1) I think there are too many camera cuts, and personally believe that the videos would be better without the constant shifts in camera angles/zoom. 2) Although I really do think that the edited videos would be high quality content, it's just not the content that I'm looking for when I come to Jorb's youtube/twitch. I personally really enjoy the long, slow, and methodical game play, and that's what I'm looking for/in the mood for when I watch Jorbs. I could see myself watching an edited video every now and then, but the majority of the time I think that I'd just skip them.

I would definitely watch those edited videos. I think in places the cuts were overdone, but for the most part the worked to emphasize the funny stuff that was going on and while also giving a sense of what the deck was doing. It's very KZfaq-centric content, which is very different from your un- or minimally-edited VoD content, but as someone who also follows you on Twitch the KZfaq VoDs can sometimes be redundant, and these videos wouldn't be - I would watch a well-edited version of a run that I had already seen in its entirety. It would definitely be a change in character for the channel and I can understand the various arguments against it, but I for one would watch.

I like having a little more time of silence so that I can also think about decisions. In a game like xcom, more heavy editing might be nice, but for STS, vods are almost just preferred for me.

I wouldn't want it to replace the existing content on the channel, but it looks like it could be a really fun "highlights"-style video.

I liked it :D Develops those twitch jorbs memes. Add a couple extra seconds or so to enjoy each edit more thoroughly, they felt very quick. Outside of that I thought it could be good. Nice edit Twitch viewer!

if you're still taking feedback, the longer videos of successful runs are essential viewing for me everytime you upload. however, this short video was fun, and I would absolutely adore maybe a compilation of additional runs that dont make the main feed. maybe runs where you lose in spectacular/exciting/interesting ways because I often learn a lot from the ways you lose, and this would be an entertaining way to see those moments without getting sucked into a full hour before the loss comes? anyway great job either way

I think it would be great for a win streak compilation. Would totally watch a 10 win streak shrunk down into 60-90 minutes.

This edited version works good for like really broken or really sad runs. It may be cool to make a edited version for your coolest runs additionally to the normal stream run.
