This is a MAJOR reason why I dont do the inventory listings on Ebay. When Im done, Im done. It's in list perfectly if I need to reactivate (which is better for the algorithm anyways.

Thanks for the update. I don't use this feature. If I have multiples, I just use the "add items" feature on the listing template. I try to keep it as simple as possible.

You are supposed to REVEAL the Expiration date in the description. I always reveal the expiration date for ink, health&beauty items. I don't sell past due expiration date items.

I happen to use a generic topical gel Arthritis cream that is otc, but prescribed by my doctor at Kaiser. When doctors prescribe it the cost for the patient is zero of a few bucks. Thus a prescription is not necessarily for a prescription drug.

If she offered International shipping on the item and it is considered a "prescription drug" in a different country that is why this happened... I had the same scenario happen to me a few years back. That is really the only thing that makes sense as to why she got the ban for it being a "prescription drug" Funny enough the WHOLE reason I even know about this being an issue i'm pretty sure is from watching Lindy back when she was doing HBA in the first place when I had it happen to me so I wouldn't doubt she knows exactly why she got the ban but DECIDED to withhold the actual reasoning because now "its coincidental" and eBay is out to get her...

Or it could be a "California" product. That state has a high restriction on a lot of stuff because of chemicals. In Amazon you have to fill out the California fields, even if it's expired.

As a buyer on ebay, I hate when an item is listed that I think is still available, or even has a quantity of '1', but is actually sold out. The listing should just end, PERIOD. Some people brought up international shipping maybe being a problem for these "prescription" listings. Not everything that's over the counter in the US is in other countries. Maybe the cream contained an ingredient that is by prescription in one of the other countries she ships to.

Don't understand how a listing remains active if the last item was purchased - shouldn't the system remove it automatically? Sounds dangerous if the systems does not remove with last sold.

If you do inventory to keep it "active" but noone can see it once it hits 0

I have almost quit selling HBA over all the pulled listings. There is little to fight, as I have tried. When eBay says NO you can't relist it because xyz it is over. HBA often has violations, it goes hand in hand with the category and pretty much impossible as a seller to avoid. One of my last ones was a pain cream that had been listed for months. Suddenly eBay decided the ingredient was one they would no longer allow on their site. Listing got pulled and I was warned. EBay started doing it with out of stock a while back...

I believe people use this feature to retain how many times a product has sold. If you delete and relist it clears the solds history. Sellers want to show 50 items sold vs a new listing were 0 have sold.

@@RockstarFlipper agreed. If I used that feature, I think, when I sold my last, I'd update the expiration date in the listing to 10yrs out, then readjust when I got more in stock. Don't need to lose my livelyhood for a simple solution.

She said in her video what it was lol. This time they suspended her because Ebay is trying to say it was a prescription medication when it's not it's just a topical cream. Her 1st suspension was for expiration date issues. It's all in her video lol

Maybe it is a prescription & she doesn't know it? There are many prescription creams out there. Would love to know the brand/exact item, I want to see a photo of the item. I understand mistakes happen, I accidentally sold flea & tick medicine that was prescription and got suspended too. It happens. Hoping she gets her account back.

I bet she is importing fake stuff from China. That stuff all has formaldehyde and lead in it. They use the toxic waste as filler to get rid of it. They put lead in cosmetics, kids toys, and animal toys as well as everything else including hardwood flooring. I would like to know as well because no seller that ever got "big" plays by the rules. You will find they all have had some type of legal troubles in the last. She should be glad she didn't harm anyone with her potentially unsafe products.

She's actually very smart and very good at what she does. She lives in Arkansas with not a lot of sourcing options, so she buys whatever she can to flip and make money on. She's been a reseller for like 20 years and she is not a niche reseller. I don't see her as being all over the place with what she sells. I see it as having your eyes open and seizing the opportunities when they present themselves. The more you know kind of thing. She keeps a lookout with a wide scope and knows a lot about many items simply out of the need to make money for her family in a place where there aren't many options.

Casey clearly said he doesn't even do inventory listings, then when he checked he had six items there. Sounds like everybody needs to check, whether their items have expiration dates or not. In this instance, Lindey's ding was for selling "prescription" items, not expiration dates.

@@ccrbonline1752 I don't do inventory... those 6 items were random ones i used for a video back in the day to show people how to create them and I forgot to delete them, and one was an item i was doing an experiment with. I had 6 items yes, i deleted all them, and i literally have had tens of thousnads of items over the years soo no, i don't do inventory

I wouldn't list something that's expired only to delist it so it's saved in unsold. eBay will still warn you even though you took it down. Once it's live and in their system in any degree. You will still be warned. Regardless if sold or not. I would just save the template in a spreadsheet or something and list it when you have more in stock. Lastly, I hate eBay.

When the items were listed, they weren't expired. She sold them all before they expired. In the timeframe between selling all of her old inventory and getting new inventory of the same items, she got the suspension for having active listings with expired dates, even though the available quantity was listed as zero. I'm a retired software QA Analyst and IMO, this is a programming design flaw. Instead of suspending sellers, eBay needs to fix their program.

At least eBay told her WHY her account was suspended and provided a route to dispute, instead of the nebulous "patterns of activity that endanger eBay" with no way to dispute. Maybe eBay has finally realized they're less than perfect? (I'm joking.)

From watching Lindey's video about it today, they sent her an email saying she violated the prescription drug policy. They didn't give her a way to dispute it. At the end of the email they told her her account was on a 3 day suspension. So it was already decided. It was not a prescription drug item. And she was honestly sick and tired of dealing with eBay's bs and thought getting on the phone and trying to fight would just be a waste of precious time because they wouldn't have changed their minds even if they were wrong. Sellers are always getting smacked with aggravation from eBay, most of it caused by eBay'mistakes. And from what I remember it wasn't on a zero quantity listing (the first suspension was). This one was on a sold listing from like 6 months for a topical OTC arthritis gel.

So I wonder if eBay's next totalitarian bowel movement will be suspending accounts for listing stuff like electronic test equipment bearing an expired calibration sticker. Or, like I was selling in 1999-2002, lithium primary cells that were past their shelf-life date, that I'd tested and found to still meet spec, that I'd so-described and photographed under test. As we all know, eBay is perfect and the ultimate world expert on everything, and employs AI that's second to none. Better not have "expired" batteries in your remotes! ;) (Ever have a buyer open a claim because one of your remotes doesn't work...because it arrived without batteries and your listing described it as working?)
