A quick Beginner's Guide that tells you all you need to know and doesn't waste your time! Hugo is a powerful grappler with great range and devastating combos! This tutorial will cover his Normals, Special Moves, Super, and Ultras. Plus, some Bread and Butter combos to get you started!
BUTTON TRANSLATION
Attacks
LK: light kick
MK: medium kick
HK: heavy kick
LP: light punch
MP: medium punch
HP: heavy punch
PP/KK: Ex Attacks
Directions:
f - forward
b - back
u - up
d - down
qcf - quater-circle forward
qcb - quarter-circle back
hcb - half circle back
hcf - half circle forward
FC - full cirlce
f, qcf - dragon punch
FADC - Focus Attack Dash Cancel

Just a note for extremely new players: Much like all 360 inputs, you don't need to input the full 360 degrees. Forward to up-back is enough to trigger it, or back to up-forward. This way, you can input the throw without leaving the ground.

Why does it does QCF+K for Shootdown Backbreaker when it's a dragon punch motion ? Noticed it in the end combos.

Newbie question here: Can you do the super and instead of the shootdown backbreaker (F,D,F Kick) do the Megaton Press ultra (anti air ultra)?

I don't believe so. Worth trying in practice mode, but I'm pretty certain that you can only cancel his super with the Shootdown backbreaker.

I've seen people go into his second Ultra right as you regain control at the end of his Super, but only against walls.

if crouching hard kick can hit characters that back dash, than why does he never hit chun li when she back dashes?

Probably because Hugo is doing it too early. It's meant to punish a back dash. Not to prevent it. Back dashes are invincible on start-up. Some more than others.

The video is missing some important points, even tho it really IS just a beginner's guide, like EX ultra throw has extra range, and the different SPDs also have differing ranges.

Good to know. I appreciate it when people add information in the comments. Thank you, sir. It's hard to do Guides like these without missing something. While the SPD's do have different range, they seemed pretty small to me. The light has good enough range. I did not know about the Ex Ultra Throw had more range, though. That's pretty vital stuff.
