yes, finally, one that's exactly it in my experience. i distinctly remember like one year where english/literature was purple for some reason, but otherwise its always been that way.

The colour we associate subjects with is heavily influenced by the colour of the book we wrote notes in for that class, change my mind.

In my case Math was blue, French, or if you prefer Literature (I'm French), was red, Physics/Chemistry was generally black, grey or white, History geography and Social studies yellow, biology green and English always dark blue. Italian was green while I still learned it. Haven't spoken a word of it in four years. Now my programming classes go in the black, white and grey folders, math, English and literature kept their old colours, economy earned the yellow one and "Personal Projects" (yes there was a class literally named that) was supposed to go in the green one but I barely did anything that could be put in the folder. Or anything at all during that class.

3:14 In Middle School we had to get different colored folders and each folder color represented a different subject so it'd be easy to find what folder you needed for the subject. This was a required thing and you couldn't choose what color goes with what subject. The subjects were color coded on purpose. All I remember is that science was yellow.
