The Dodge Durango had sticker residue from its time as a fleet vehicle. Time to get it off using some household items.

Hey Chris, thanks for posting these videos, they sure help to break the monotony of lockdown here in Scotland. Any time I remove adhesive residue, I feel Zippo lighter fluid works very well for me. It breaks down the adhesive without damaging paint.

Around 30 years ago, my parents bought an old ambulance complete with all of the decals still in tact. They took it to a family gathering and had about 12 members of the family descend upon the hapless ambulance with rags and cans of starting fluid. We managed to get all of the decals off and also subsequently destroyed copious amounts of brain cells!! 😂

Hey Chris, great video, you could use goof off wipes, also I use a steamer to remove window tint and it got the glue pretty good. Would probably work on paint also.

Good day to you my friend. This is your friend Ted from Texas. Two things that I used it seem to work was carburetor cleaner and alcohol. Multiple applications of both seem to work pretty good. I used rubbing alcohol and just continuously rub it on and it seemed to take it off. Carburetor cleaner seem to work as well. You may want to give them a shout I mean they shot let's see how well you do with that. Neither one hurt the paint but I did wash and clean the surface when I was done to get all of the alcohol off. Stay safe my friend see you in the next video.

I use a power washer to remove some of the residue. I found that it would remove 70% of the residue and the rest I would use some goo gone.

Car was sitting in the sun @ 25C, Took a spray car of olive oil to the adhesive. Starting dissolving away immediately on the thin strips. Allowed it to sit for a minute or 2, started washing/rubbing it off with a microfibre cloth. Thin adhesive came of with a rub, thick had to move work , and added spray oil to the cloth. Off it all came.

Alcohol hasn't failed me yet. I generally will wax the area after I'm done. Alcohol works great on the windows too.
@joerichards26163 жыл бұрын
most adhesives are either oil based or alcohol based. try rubbing alcohol on a rag if WD40 is not working.

Get some GOO GONE any auto parts store. I use it for my registration sticker and for those stickers they put on your window for illegal parking.

Goo gone and l apply a little heat from a hair dryer to the more stubborn stickers. I use an ice scraper--a plastic one of course. It's easier on the hand than using a credit card. Do a video please on your 'new' Durango.

What about Goo Gone? Isnt that what its literally designed for? I think I've used that few times on stuff like this and it okay.

Goof off for larger areas (spray on - wipes off)or lacquer thinner(must be original paint) for smaller areas.

Rubbing alcohol works pretty good, the higher percent the better. You will need to apply it often if the residue is heavy.
