About the headlight flashing after fueling issue... There are a LOT of truck drivers who believe that pickups should NOT be using the high-flow diesel (truck) lanes. While you don't generally have a choice when pulling Soli, there are a LOT of pickup drivers who think that simply because they're pulling a trailer (even an empty garden trailer), they MUST use the truck lanes. A few months ago, I pulled into a rather busy truck stop for fuel. I'm a company driver, and I don't get to choose my fuel stops. I pulled in behind a "hot shot" with an empty gooseneck trailer; it looked to be about a 20' bed. (I look over at the car island; multiple diesel pumps available, and plenty of room.) He starts fueling, and then starts cleaning his windshield. No problem so far. Remember, these are high flow pumps. After a few seconds, the nozzle pops. He finishes his windshield, then restarts the fuel. He then uses the window squeegee to start washing THE SIDE OF HIS TRUCK. The nozzle pops again. He washes THE OTHER SIDE. He spends another few minutes futzing with the nozzle, then hangs it up. He washes his hands (in the windshield cleaner bucket), dries them, and pulls forward. He spent EIGHTEEN MINUTES to pump FIFTEEN GALLONS of fuel. I spend eight minutes pumping 130 gallons. I get into my cab, and wait for him to move. (Someone was behind me, so I couldn't back out.) Nine minutes later, he finally comes back out with a bag of food. I expected him to sit there and eat it, but fortunately, he didn't. He tied up the fuel lane for 35 minutes. One of the unwritten rules (courtesy) among professional drivers is you spend a maximum of ten minutes in the "pull forward" area. That's enough time to make a "pit stop" (leave your phone in the vehicle!), grab a bite and some caffeine, and hit the road. Another is that the window squeegee is ONLY for use on glass.

We are new RV'ers, waiting for our fifth wheel to be delivered next week. Thanks to the Hanks recommendation (Thanks Hanks!), we signed up for TSD Open Roads fuel discount program. The instructions state that we MUST use the commercial truck lanes in order to receive the discount. Can anyone confirm if this is true or are we able to use the car islands? In any case, we plan to be very mindful of commercial drivers and follow the rules of courtesy. :)

Thank you for that info. I pull a 40 ft 5th wheel. I do not wash my truck but I do use the truck fueling areas. I also like to get in and out ! I don’t like being with all the trucks. I know they are working. I never had anyone flashing lights at me. One more thing when truckers are trying to get in a lane and I flash my brights letting them in why don’t they thank people anymore. What happened to curtesy on the roads .

@@sharimcintyre2026 This is true you must use the truck fuel lane for TSD Open Road discounts. To OPs post, he didn't have a problem with the person using the fuel lane for trucks, it was he did ridiculous things holding up the fuel lane. Don't do that, just pull in get your fuel and get out of the way.

I am new to Diesel and RVing, we have a 42’ long 5th wheel so I began using the truck stops. The biggest pain I have found is that you have to walk inside to prepay then when done you have to walk back inside to sign off get your debit card and drivers license back (at some places). It’s a huge pain in the A$$ trying to blend the RVers and commercial guys. I haven’t watched the video yet so maybe it speaks to it. I am going to get some corporate cards, I feel your pain Driver. Washing his hands in the windshield bucket is absolutely disgusting! What’s up with all the diesel pump handles being covered in fuel and oil, even the typical gas stations diesel pump handles are filthy.

Pretty sure it’s just condensation in your dryer vent I have the same problem with mine. I would angle the vent and seal the vent hose to your vent

Back in February 2020 we had down to 25 deg overnight at Gunter Hill Campground in Montgomery Alabama. Our camper has no protection board on the bottom so our plumbing is exposed. Because the site was paved and the days were getting to near 70, the ground kept warmth emitting to prevent freezing water.

We bought our first travel trailer in February. Decided to go on our first trip last week of March. Chicago to Las Vegas. We got hit with a snow storm in Colorado put us 2 days behind and had two towing bills first $500 to have the trailer pulled to the campsite and then $60 to get it pulled out to the parking lot. Learned a lot that first trip.

You RV park neighbor talking about last winter. The entire mountain west just got pummeled. I live in Utah and one of our main ski resorts ended their ski season having received 901 inches of snow for the year...and no that's not a typo.

I live in NH and we got 18 inches of heavy wet snow Wed night thru last night. Loads of trees down and power outages and road closures. Be safe on the road and stay warm!!

What a cool video. I love you guys! Hey, thanks for the heads up on the lap trays. They are awesome! I saw when Kyle surprised you and thought they would be a better option than TV trays in our camper. We don't have a table, and the TV trays aren't really a good fit at the sofa, but the lap trays are spot on. Since we don't store ski equipment behind the sofa 😉😉, they fit perfectly back there. So thank you again.
