And the fact that his enemy, part Chimera Ant herself, had such a visceral aversion to the sight of the pinnacle of her species humbling himself. This scene perfectly displayed the fundamental differences between human and ant, namely that humans are each unique with their own individual strengths and weaknesses, while in contrast the ants all shared a singular, all consuming purpose to achieve the pinnacle of their evolution. This scene solidified Meruem’s transition from ant to human, and in such a simple and beautiful way. That’s why I love it anyways.
