Where I’m from it’s impossible to not fly near a road it’s too developed. She left Bobby’s property and made a long flight to the neighbors across the street. I checked both ways to make sure there were no cars coming before I gave her the pigeon it’s in the video👍🏻

@@tylersimcoe6023 right, as a child I grew up around falconry. My dad was a master falconer. We of course had red tails, but some of my favorite hawks we had were Harris Hawks. We had 2 females that we hunted together, they were a great team. However they both had entirely different attitudes. The older of the 2 females was almost downright mean, while the younger female was very gentle and loved attention. When hunting they each had their own role and knew it well. We hunted all over central Texas, and as Tyler said it is almost impossible to not have to hunt in close proximity to a roadway of some sort. It’s a shame to say, but hunting grounds are getting harder and harder to find. If you do find a good place to hunt it seems that it gets bought and turned into housing development at an alarming pace. It’s great to see the sport is still alive, it does and always will have a special place in my heart.

interesting she still has one of her juvenile tail feathers as well.

She actually contracted west Nile in early august and it stopped her mount completely. If you look closely she actually has quite a few juvenile feathers. And yes squirrels in the woods are her specialty
