Also, Harris' musical hero pre-Maiden was UFO bassist Pete Way. He also said if he had one choice for a musician to work with, it would be Michael Schenker.

When you Hurm1t see them live this song will have a whole new meaning and feel after you come back from the concert, As I say after I saw them live for the first time and now any time I hear the intro to this I'm immaturity in my head right back there about to see Iron Maiden explode onto the stage, No I'm not crying I just have something in my eye 🤘🤘🤘 when you get to see them LIVE you will have to react to this again and see what your thoughts and feelings are.

Now you've got to listen to another blaze era b side which is a pretty good original it was the b side to the man on the edge picture disc single, I live my way, although it doesn't really sound a lot like maiden.

Steve Harris was a huge fan of (late) U.F.O. bassist Pete Way, who influenced Harris' galloping rhythm style... U listen to 'Lights out' by U.F.O. and u can hear it... Steve Harris formed the band British Lion that plays in that style of 70's British rock. Blaze Bayley does a great job singing Phil Mogg (U.F.O.) in his brief stint w/ Iron Maiden, but Maiden always plays U.F.O.'s version before their concerts. Pantera's "Cat scratch fever" cover is killer 🤘🤘🔥🔥and so is their cover of 'The Badge' (by Poison Idea)... Cool thing is on this tour in South America, Pantera played Black Sabbath's 'Planet Caravan' in concert as a tribute to Dimebag & Vinnie Paul (R.I.P.) ... Motorhead also recorded a cover of 'Cat scratch fever'. Motorhead covered Metallica ('Whiplash') and a few others... David Bowie ('Heroes')... The Sex Pistols ('God save the Queen')... Sepultura's cover of Motorhead's 'Orgasmatron' outdid the original. Metallica's early covers were so great. They outdid the original songs by Diamond Head ('Am I evil?' ... 'Helpless'... 'The Prince') Van Halen recorded some stellar covers - "You really got me" (The Kinks)... 'Ice cream man' (John Brim) One of Judas Priest's best covers was "Better by you, better than me" (by Spooky Tooth)...Sad that it was the song that they were sued in court for by apparently inspiring a double-suicide pact w/ "subliminal messages"...Also "The Green Manalishi" (by Fleetwood Mac) Of course, Nirvana did great w/ covers - "Where did you sleep last night?" Also, if you are bored one day you should 1st listen to "Diamonds and Rust" by Joan Baez, then listen to Judas Priest cover of the same song off their Unleashed In The East cd...it's my favorite cover ever.. then listen to "The Ripper" off of Unleashed In The East CD too. I know you like that song and it's never been done better than on Unleashed in the East trust me...keep rockin \m/
