I had something similar several years ago, but in order to get it to pick up the dust, the directions suggested you hold it to an older tube television that was turned on. Then the duster would get grab a negative charge from the TV and actually pick up dust. Keep up the great video's. Have a wonderful day

I've been a housekeeper for years and from my experience those type of plastic dusters are garbage. All they do is send the dust into the air. Swiffer dusters do a superior job and actually pick the dust and dirt up. I won't use anything but swiffer or a microfiber cloth.

Looks like the dog gets a new toy! Best thing to do blinds with is the crevasse tool with brush attachment from Shark... fold blinds down vacuum top to bottom, fold blinds up vacuum bottom to top (i do good up first then top to bottom). I have a dust glove type that fits on a bendable 12inch rod... bend and dust ceiling fan. I do use the swiffer for all other dusting. Just works quick and easy and it's not expensive if you buy refills at Costco. Always fun watching your show! Smiles and blessings...

This seems like something you'd use to get the leaves and dirt off your porch. Since you'd actually want the stuff to move to a different spot, it would go right off the porch or patio onto the ground. You could also clean the dust off your porch railings and stairs!

I have commented a couple times before on how I prefer the tried and true methods of cleaning, being a owner of a cleaning company, however I think this COULD be a good product. I think if you lightly sprayed the duster with behold or pledge it would pick up and hold the dust better. ......but as I have said before, .....good ol rag, lol, thanks again for your review. You are super awesome

Hi James! After watching your latest video reminded me of a local Canadian tv product reviewer. She looked at dusters made of different materials and one was like your hurricane duster but it didn’t rotate. To get dust to stick to hers, she rubbed it on a towel cloth to create static and it did pick up dust a little bit better. Mind you like I said, hers did not spin; it was just a regular hand held duster.

Several years ago I bought a set of dusting tools from a TV offer, I can't remember the brand name. The box included a large, a medium, and a small size hand-held tool with light green colored, very fine plastic "hairs" that are extremely magnetic because of static electricity. They work very well because there is nothing that spins. The smallest tool is the one I use the most because it is about the same size as a conventional duster. I've been using the smallest one every day since I got it . The green fuzzy stuff is the best dusting tool I've ever found for around the house and the hard surfaces on the car's interior. I'd like another one to replace it just in case it wears out some day. The medium and the large tools I rarely use only because of their sizes. I wonder if these were so good that nobody ever needed to replace them. Maybe they were too good, and the company went out of business.

Is it possible that in the instructions it say something about positively ionizing it or something to that effect? I remember in the mid 90's similar dusters that you "charge" it by running it across a tube tv.

The Swiffer duster with extender stick that you can buy from Walmart is way better for picking up dust, dirt, and cobwebs and when it gets too dirty you change out the brush and reuse the extender handle. I use that for my house.

Excellent review, James. Want to share experience for a product you reviewed rather long ago; the Sock Slider. Bought one today; really like it. I have ,um , "age related mobility problems." Really hard time putting on socks. Not with the sock slider. Put each sock on the slider; boom, done. For younger folks, maybe not needed, but for AARP + crowd can be a game changer. Thought you might like to know.

NO, my dog would be scared of it, plus I would not want them eating the fibers of the duster to only get them caught in their throat, or stuck in their stomach. I had a $250 vet bill from stuffed dog toys after my dachshund a few years back got the fibers stuck in her stomach, and had to have it pumped, and this duster looks to be made from the same or similar material.

Not sure if you were aware of this or not but my grandma used a spinning duster very similar like one you’re reviewing, about 25 years ago in Europe. Downside - the brushes were rainbow colored and didn’t pick up as well rather just knock down the dust off the surfaces.

I have a duster that looks like yours but doesn't spin and the trick is to rub it and that creates static electricity and the dust sticks to the duster. Works in my case but I don't know if it would while spinning. After awhile, it's really dusty so I go outside and bang the heck out of it, rub it again and I'm good to go.

This product was out many years ago without the spinny battery addition and it was unimpressive. It was sold on the premise that if you spun it in your hands, it would develop static charge that attracted dust. Guess what...it was a load of bunk! No surprise this is no better. Back in the day there were dusters that you had to use on a TV first to give them a static charge. If you have an old glass tube TV sitting around, use it on that, then maybe it won't fling the dust off.

Coryn May it has to do with the brush itself, its a nylon fibered brush (plastic) where as the swifter and the glove are microfiber. So even with a liquid to weigh it down it wont stay on the duster. Defeating the purpose of having it.

Alexander Worley I agree. Basically as I said in my first post, it’s a POS. I’m happy that James tests these things so I don’t spend the little money that I have on something that will disappoint me. I also appreciate that he won’t accept sponsors because that causes a bias in his opinion. I’ve watched so many videos where the creator is sponsored and they go on and on about how fantastic something is even tho you can see how bad it is. He is true to the core.

Anything that spins whether it be a mop or duster will throw the dirt or dust all over the room because of centrifugal force. So your dust is just being distributed to other spots, not removed.

I buy the swiffer duster that works the best it has like a static cling to make the dust stick to it ..i would much rather have disposable duster cause every time you use the mitt one it gets dirt all over it and u would have to wash it all the time

I think you proved fairly quickly that this product is not very good. What I appreciate about your reviews is that you give the products a very thorough chance. You might even say excessive.Good job.

Perhaps dust would cling to the brush if you sprayed it first with a little Pledge or a Multi surface cleaning product? Also, these types of products need to be rechargeable. They'll go through batteries pretty fast.

Why not close the blinds before dusting them? Two passes: one with blinds pointing down, one with blinds pointing up.

Swiffer duster is the best. Picks up the dust and you can reuse it. I keep one in my car to dust the interior.

You would have to use that spin duster with a vacuum so WHEN the dust is kick-up in the air your vacuum will suck it up that the only way i would use the spin duster but like you said it would be easier and cheaper to use the one dollar dust items from THE DOLLAR STORE! THANK YOU AGAIN, MR. WHITE FOR SAVING US FROM SENDING MONEY ON JUNK!
