Great start on the hay! Yes, yes I have "painted a horse's nails".... probably thousands of times. 😂 I bred and showed horses for years. I still have them and love them dearly but cattle are so much easier. And I'm too old to bounce back up after hitting the ground off a 17h warmlood. I just splat.

4th year large animal Vet student here! It looks like photosensitization to me! This can be caused by toxic plants or more likely in her case, liver damage as she is the only one affected. The liver can’t process chemicals in the feeds well and it causes ulcers on unpigmented areas when the chemicals in the skin react with sunlight. I’ve never seen it in those areas before, I feel like she would also have ulcers on her face if that’s the case. But oh well I tried!

By chemicals, I mean phylloerythrin, which occurs naturally in all plants.

Man I thought about you Friday morning we got all ours done and hauled home (only had about 25 acres) on Thursday and went Fri morning to haul the tractors and equipment home. I was wondering if you were behind or not. Next time ur in a bind give me a shout me or my son may be available to help.
