OMG! Seeing Husker Du live in 1985 and open with "New Day Rising" is like having Picasso hand you a paintbrush and be asked to help finish his latest masterpiece. And "Not Funny Anymore" easily blows the original version to smithereens.

Scored a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of somebody's bootleg compilation video of Husker Du clips (Cheers Ed,wherever you may be).It was pretty ropey quality by the time it had made it's way across the Atlantic and into my life (It had obviously been converted to the UK video format by somebody pointing a UK video camera at an American TV ) but it had The Joan Rivers show,The promos for Makes No Sense At All/Love Is All Around,Could You Be The One and this show in full.Bob and Grant go into some schtick before "Drug Party' ("My fucking mother!All she does,ALL SHE Does is fucking bitch and moan about how goddamn lonely she is.?...."Anyone know where those words come from cos it sounds like they are quoting something (or someone) but I was never able to find out where it came from Cheers
