Thanks Alex for all these videos, there are clear and then so helpful. One question on this one : I don't understand the difference between brake control rate and Brake frequency. I seems that both make the brake feeling stronger or smoother. Could you please elaborate on this ? thanks

Thanks! I'm glad that you like the video! The brake control rate is more of a "feel" adjustment, or driving aid, if you'd like. Whereas the brake frequency is the outright strength of the brake. I hope that this makes sense.

Hi there, great video! I think you convinced me to get one of those OTA programming dongle. I am returning to the hobby and I am trying to relearn lost skills and being able to change a few settings in the filed and save profiles is very useful when compared to the programming box either on it's own or linked to a pc. A quick question, what particular setting would you recommend to play with to help me manage the speed and power of that these modern machine have too offer? I have Hobbywing stock motors on my 1/10 4WD buggy and 2WD touring and XR10 Pro V2 on both and I still struggle to manage their power and speed. Thanks.

I'm glad that you liked the video! What kind of motors are you using in these cars, if I may ask? The most useful changes you can do for drivability is more softening, a higher drive frequency, a lower throttle rate value. These are just a few examples.

@hagberg
@hagberg 2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. The Justock is specifically designed for blinky classes. Its timing system has been permanently set to ZERO degrees. It's not a good option for modified racing since you can't add any boost or turbo. The only thing that you can adjust is Start Mode (Punch) for which a higher value will give you a punchier/more aggressive feel. This might help, in your case.

With boost and turbo timing in the ESC, do you need to be concerned with the amount of static timing on the motor?
@hagberg
@hagberg 3 жыл бұрын
Static timing must be added cautiously. Especially if you use a lot of boost and timing. Endbell timing must not be lower than 30 or higher than 40 for modified with the HW G3 motor.

Alexander, can you explain why you choose a 4.5 vs. a 5.0 motor for outdoor asphalt? I'm setting my car up for a medium sized asphalt track. Most of the racers here are using a 5.0 but I was thinking a 4.5 might be better, but I'd like to hear how you make that decision. Thank you from California!!
@hagberg
@hagberg Жыл бұрын
Unless the track is very big, the 5.0T will be the best choice, because of its drivability. A 4.5T will make the car overpowered for most tracks (too much torque).

1900KW in very small tracks and 2200KW on medium/Big/High traction tracks. If you're going to buy only one, then it is better to buy the 2200. Since with that, you can always reduce the power. But if you're racing on big tracks with the 1900, with added Turbo apparently it is strange to drive in terms of feeling.

I must ask you, do you change motor often? I mean you probably change the whole car once or twice a year! :p

The modified motors honestly last very long. I can use them up to a year without replacing. The stock motors however, need more frequent replacing, if you want the top performance. Since the rotor especially takes a toll after too many heat cycles.
