We have had several debates on SHIKI's channel (an exclusively BTS reactor) about how many reaction channels actually are charging enormous amounts for FREE BTS content on Patreon, mainly RUN BTS. And they also charge for other creators content such as the Rise of Bangtan series and funny BTS video channels like SUGARMY, Kookiestataes, KPOPVGK, etc. Content that has taken these individuals hours to edit and they release for free but the reactors are making a profit from. It doesn't seem fair at all. I would love to know your opinion on this. You should check out Shiki's discussions too.💜

It's downright disgusting and they take it off to Patreon because they know full well what they are doing is ILLEGAL.

I do agree that anything that was released free should not be behind a pay wall. I get that they are trying to do something exclusive for the paid subscribers on there, but maybe that should be something that they themselves had to pay for (paid subscription only content on Weverse type stuff ). I need to check out the debates on Shiki's channel because I was under the assumption that this was only for Tik Tok exclusively because of them not doing royalties. I admit I am behind on this issue.

That's one reason why I don't subscribe to reactor's Patreon's anymore. Only if they have free accounts, and I see that they are not making money off of BTS's free content. The Rise of Bangtan and RUN BTS should NEVER be monetized (In my opinion). 💜

I saw that Jose got demonetized on KZfaq so now he only posts a few times a month but is posting multiple times a week on his patreon. Can’t believe one of his tiers is $25 a month. The audacity. That’s almost the price of an online bts screening concert.

If a content creator actually adds value to viewing a mv, choreo, album, etc. then they should be able to get payment for that. You, for example, use snippets from those medium to show viewers on what you are basing your opinions. You do add your thoughts, analysis, etc. so you deserve to get some money for doing this. There are others who will play a mv, RUN BTS episode, etc. all the way through only stopping here and there to ooh, ahh about the product they are "reviewing" they don't add anything to the viewers understanding of that piece. Thank you for what you do. I only recently discovered you and do enjoy listening to what you have to say.

I think TikTok is different because just like Spotify and Tidal, UMG requested more money for songs used in dance challenges and artists rarely initiated them. They do now becauses they saw the marketing value and I think companies are reasonable in asking for more money for their artists... TikTok needs the artists, not the other way around.

It is my understanding that whenever a reactor watches a music video, that MV artist receives a part (or all?) of the credit/money for that view. So that is why I try to check out all "first time reaction to BTS!!!!" videos. Partly to re-live my reaction to BTS when I first discovered them, and also to see how the reactor is affected by BTS. (Does that make sense?) I do, however, prefer professional (vocal coaches, film and video editors, etc) reactions to BTS videos. (Which is why I like you! :)) Also, the good reaction channels have figured out that they can't show paid content so they don't waste my time. I didn't realize that 1Million couldn't get monetized. That's sad, they are so good!

Thanks for this video. Since it relates to taking credit, I’m wondering what you think about video creators employing photos, music, & videos edited (or created) using AI, other editing tools, and even entirely fake photos. BTS content specifically… AI-generated songs-doesn’t the artist’s voice belong to him or her? And lately there have been so many fake photos of Jungkook on KZfaq and Instagram.😢 Why is this content ok? I hope BigHit company rules begin to crack down on using fake photos and photoshopping, and maybe require company permission for AI songs. Otherwise it just feels wrong to me. Am I alone in my distress? (Make a video about it?🧐🙂)

Well said. I completely agree and I often leave a comment under BTS AI songs telling people not to watch/listen! I mean if you take away BTS voice, whats the point? And some of these are getting thousands of views when they could be watching the real thing. I don't understand it at all.💜

Hi Army!🙂I like your comment.🙂 I'm distressed right along with you.😕 I don't like when they "AI" & photoshop, mostly Jung Kook, Taehyung & Jimin in "perverted" scenarios (I think you know what I mean 😏). To me, all these AI songs everywhere NEVER capture the warmth & humanness in their voices & I can't believe the companies are letting people get away with it. Have a good day!💜

It falls under fake news and sadly social media and the use or creation of fake photos/videos, memes, any sorts of edits can go scot-free under the law. What's aggravating is haters pick on these edits and use it against BTS or not just BTS but other idols too. They try so hard to make a story out of these edits to convince others. It's so sickening. It adds up to the toxicity of the kpop community. These people who are doing this need medical help.

That explains why I haven't seen quite a number of channels lately. They used to post very often but now you don't see them no more. But even before this restriction by the companys, I was never really a fan of reaction videos for MVs. Because I once watched a reaction of a JYP group where the creator had a lot of nasty things to say about one member's voice. Something that I had never noticed before because to me he sounded just fine. But that criticism caused me to now start looking for it in every other song by the group. We really should be wise in what we choose to consume on these streets. I felt bad that my opinion of that member was now skewed because I checked for that "weakness" in all their subsequent comebacks ☹️ So now I just enjoy whatever music I like without caring what the critics think, and I avoid (MV) reaction videos.

I know what you mean. I had an experience with an opposite type of reaction. He was angry about attacks on Jimin. He played the video that was disrespectful of Jimin with so called, "examples." The reactor was an independent artist and a lead singer himself in the USA. He pointed out everything that the OP got wrong. Then he really focused in a few times that Jimin's voice was less than perfect. He pointed out the stage smoke effects in all of them. Then he pointed out where Jimin was in his vocal range at that part of the song. He said that he himself will often sing some of his higher notes in a breathy method intentionally. But that particular method is especially difficult to keep the throat open and relaxed with the smoke. He says that smoke is the absolute enemy of vocals, especially for singers like himself and Jimin that have the high, soft, breathy, lilting tones on some of their lyrics. You need a completely relaxed throat to pull them off. If you add in physical exhaustion, it becomes even harder. He really emphasized that the OP had no idea what they were talking about. He emphasized how unique and high quality Jimin has in his tone, especially his high notes. And he absolutely insisted that anyone watching that can get him the message that he needs them to not blow smoke in his face when he is performing on stage. His reaction video added to my appreciation of Jimin's voice.

Thank you for helping clear things up 😊 this is awesome. I am still concerned about the destruction or removal of physical tributes around Korea. Things that were celebrated by BigHit and Korea and had been there for many years. Like The Spring Day bus stop from 2018. Does this seem like an escalation? Do we think the boys support this sort of move? Idk but id love to generate some discussion and awareness. It seems to have come and gone pretty quietly. I find it concerning. Destroying a massive mural that celebrates bts. Hybe states "We don't grant permission for streets, sculptures, and murals. We prohibit such creations as they could negatively influence the image of out artists when damaged or badly managed". Ok. But should they be evaluating this on a case by case basis? Of course my opinion on this matter is based on the frustration of the destruction of priceless works of art so I'm definitely jaded and unable to look at this constructively. Looking for constructive feedback here. Standard Disclaimer: my comments represent my opinion only. My comments may be based on flawed data while being skewed by my ideas and perceptions. And finally, my comments may include copious amounts of cursing and explicit content. Viewer discretion is advised. Borahae my lovelies. 💜

I would not suggest making KZfaq a full-time job to anyone who does not create original content unless they can get sponsors. This is going to be a bit tedious, but a lot of content creators don't really understand copyright. It fairly allows a copyright holder to protect the use of their content. It grants them the exclusive right to reproduce, distribute, perform, display, and create derivative works of the copyrighted work. You cannot use someone else's IP, let alone make money off of it without their permission. Even if you buy their music, even if you credit them, even if it was free. It is still copyright infringement to use their IP without their permission. The only exception to this is public interest like fair use - but this is ambiguous and decided on a case by case basis. Many think that only adding something to the work is fair use, but this is not the case. You need permission to even modify (create derivative works of) the work. For example - there is a creative commons license that allows the use of the content for free like the other types, but only allows it to be shared in it's original form without modifications. So modification itself does not equal to fair use and does not negate copyright. There are a lot more factors that go into it. Even if you do a cover song, you are copying someone's copyrighted musical composition. Even if you perform over a song, you are still copying someone's copyrighted music. It doesn't matter how good you are, or how much effort you put in, or how much there is an audience for something - you need the appropriate permission to use it in the way you want to use it. Many KZfaqrs who use copyrighted works have it backwards in thinking that the Content ID claim steals their monetization, when they were never entitled to it anyway. It is the Content ID claim system that actually allows them to publish that copyrighted work without fear of litigation. Through the Copyright Claim system, KZfaq and the copyright holders have an agreement which allows content creators to use their copyrighted content in exchange for statistics and a share of the monetization. This is generous in comparison to having to obtain licenses for using their work which is not easy and costs more. It is basically broadcasting and even radio broadcasters need a license to be able to use songs. It is actually a decent outcome in the grand scheme of things. Content ID claim protects one from copyright strikes which in turn protects one from an outright lawsuit. There are very few cases of actual fair use that get short-changed by this and they have to go the frustrating process of appeals. KZfaq does a lot of things wrong but this is necessary to protect the platform & it's content creators and to respect copyright. I appreciate it when labels are generous, but it is fair for them to exercise their right as long as they didn't get it through unscrupulous means. To what extent would it be wise is another matter. I don't think UMG does not want people to make money of their content, that's not the issue. They allow it on other platforms. But platforms make a lot of money by allowing the use of copyrighted music. In order for this to be legal, they need permission from the labels. They achieve this through agreements where copyright holders are paid for this use in some form or the other. TikTok has a lot of power when it comes to promoting a song and UMG is an industry giant. They had a contract earlier that allowed the use of UMG's music on TikTok. Now that it's time for renewal, UMG feels like they are not being paid fairly & that the new deal is even worse than the previous one and TikTok feels like their promotional power should allow them to pay less. A lot of UMG artists actually agree with the later and are frustrated that the choice is out of their hands. Whether this would be good for them in the long run is anyone's guess. After all that drama they have come back to the negotiation table. But apparently TikTok may be banned in the US. I wonder if UMG had an inkling of this and have just been stalling all this time.

It's the dance studio and choreo team who have made the dance it belongs to them why should anyone else profit off it? That's their property and someone wants to copy it in the hope they'll be able to profit of it sorry but that's copyright infringement. Pay the original dance studio and choreo team their dues'. Get their permission if you want to make money from it get, pay them for their permission to use it. Some people think they can steal whatever they want sorry NO NO NO. It's like someone using one of my patterns make and item then sell it sorry no that's my pattern I sold you the right only to make the item for your own personal use not to make the item to sell it. You want to make that item to sell get my permission ask me I'll either say yea or nay or say I want' some much for every item you sell it would be a tiny pittance by I own the dam design.

Some teachers in choreography, singing, etc start on KZfaq for free but soon it becomes lip service and free add to the paid channel where they do not pay for the artists or shows they use extensively. They get KZfaq add revenue, pls give us SOMETHING worth our viewer's time. I cannot afford to pay every content creator only to find out it's very little content, sporadic or not much of an expert opinion at all. What I find more equitable is those posting 15 min key points or older videos to KZfaq (a month or older) for those less financial while keeping courses or more advanced pro tips valuable to their private channel. I understand the need to monetize but add exchange rates and bank transfer cost, sometimes even tax and it becomes class restrictive. Between financing a gamer getting free computers for streaming or someone sponsoring a new brand and supporting a refurbished computer for a student to access education or a roof to a homeless elderly I know where my money is better spend. - imho

If you are a reactor then no, you should be demonetised. Especially if you like everything they (the artist) do. Also, some reactors complain and say they are creators and add value, but they take a lot of the artist’s content to a paid platform like Patreon. So now the reactor is earning money on the art/creation of someone else. How is it ok for them to react to an artists content and take all the revenue, this would be called piracy back in the day. Channel like this add value and only use small clips and that is totally fine, but reactors of music, sorry but no.
