Hydroponic green beans in the grow pipe .In this video I show the planting of the hydroponic green beans with a few pictures along the way until the beans were staring to come. I used Masterblend nutrients. I did top the pipe up every few days. The beans were supposed to take 56 days to harvest and these were ready in 46 day so 10 days quicker with hydroponics. Thanks! I already cut them down and cleaned the pipe and planted something else. They did very well as you can see but once the production slowed it was such a small amount of plants that it was not worth keeping them going. I do think it would be worth doing a couple long pipes maybe 10 feet which is a whole pipe.

As a curtesy to the newcomers, it would be nice to provide details on the ovious things you show on the video, such as those end caps, PVC pipe stands and most importantly, the plant food mix you used. That would help a great deal to try to duplicate it. I will compliment you on a great video. Thank you!!!

Hello. Sorry I did not provide all the info. The end caps are flexible pipe caps and are available most any home center or hardware store. The pipe stands are expensive and hard to find if you are not buying a case. I recommend using a couple of pieces of wood with a v shape or half circle cut into them as an alternative. I do have the entire set up for sale for 65.00 plus shipping in my Etsy or Amazon shop. the link is below. I do show how exactly I mix up the masterblend in my kitchen table gardening video here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/obN7dLiHm5u0dXU.html . Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Thanks!

Dave what do you think of making a 4' pipe with a 4' T5 light and growing 2 different things like peas and radish? Love your channel, I am new to all this stuff and so loving watching your channel. Thanks for all you do for people like me. Eva
@CharestStudios
@CharestStudios 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Eva. A 4 inch pipe with a t5 light sounds good. I have never tried more than one type of crop at a time. I think it would work o.k. if they had similar growth rates and in the same family otherwise they may compete for the nutrients and both not do optimally. If you want to different crops I would try 2 kinds of lettuce or maybe two different herbs. If you are doing peas you could try two varieties. So glad you are enjoying the channel. I hope that helps and you have fun with your project. Happy growing!

Good day, Emmanuelle. Thank you! I fill the pipe to about an inch from the top and I top it off with Masterblend whenever it gets down below 1/3 or so. I never change the solution just keep adding as needed and that has worked well for me. Happy growing! More hydroponic videos coming soon. I just got my greenhouse set up for this year.

Newbie question - for indoor hydroponic green beans, what (if any) is the pollination procedure once they blossom? Any guidance would be appreciated.
@CharestStudios
@CharestStudios 4 жыл бұрын
Most beans self pollinating but when they flower it could help you get a higher yield if you give the plant a little shake with your hand to help spread the pollen. Since they wont' get much wind inside that should do the trick. I would give them a little shake everyday when they are flowering. Happy growing!

Hai sir if it possible please show me tha plant roots .. i want to see the plant roots how much big and how to reduce the pipe size
@CharestStudios
@CharestStudios 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Suresh. I'm sorry but I can not show the roots because they grow all together and can't be looked at until harvest. these were done last year. After they are finished growing I cut the plants down and take the caps off the ends of the pipe and remove the roots. They all grow together in one mass.

Hi Aaron. I used Masterblend mix as per instructions. I never check any levels of anything. I guess I have good water because I have had good results with no testing.

Do you use any circulation system in the pipe? Do you change the water?
@CharestStudios
@CharestStudios Жыл бұрын
No circulation or water changes, I just add nutrients as needed. I usually use the same strength throughout the grow period. After harvest I clean the pipe and then it is ready to grow again. A very simple system that works great for greens and herbs. I think green beans and other fruiting plants would be better in a different set up with a larger reservoir.

@@allensmall3937 That's less than half price of caps, not bad. Ha, maybe you can use them as a plant support and use the whole plunger. It was a clever idea to try the plungers. I think there are always alternatives if we put our minds to it.

You don't give any information on your hydroponic grow media?
@CharestStudios
@CharestStudios 3 жыл бұрын
That is because I don't use any grow media. The growpipe is a unique way of growing hydroponically that does not use net cups or media. There is just a hole and the plant drops in the small hole.

Can orka be grown
@CharestStudios
@CharestStudios 2 жыл бұрын
You can grow Okra in a hydroponic set up but the grow pipe probably would not be able to take more than maybe one or two and the other holes would need to be covered. Okra would do well with one per 5 gallon bucket in my opinion.
