Seems amazing but personally I could really do with a transparent halo in sims. You know... you are safe in your chair, it's not needed to have that thing blocking your sight the whole time.

In the F1 games series i love the way the crew figures out the engine is knackered *after* the race starts. Like really guys? 😂

You really held your own in the race. AI's are tough cookies in this circuit. I'm guessing you didn't see my comment on the Jeddah race so I thought should re-post these: 1. In order to place in a good start you must stop within the range of 0-0.5 (update: make that 0.7-0.3) 2. In some turns you downshift to 1 gear too low. You can just drop to 3rd and coast when entering them. 3. Your throttle control. When you are 4th gear and lower do not go full to maintain traction. You can when you go 5th and beyond. I did mention about pitting but you already did it. There are more tips that others may wanna chime in. Hope these help. Since the next race is Baku. Brace yourself. The circuit is tough to get traction exiting the turns. Oh and more thing: Leclerc is pronounced LE-CLAIR

Probably because you are at the wheel and hearing what is going on in the driver's head here, which you rarely get with real racing as a spectator.

Great video - I suggest you try to use less overtake. It's tempting to abuse it to defend, but you were low on it by lap 5. ERS management is critical in the overall race result on this game at least

Will - Are you still dumping GoPro video into OBS? If so, what's the trick to getting good video quality? I'm experimenting with the same so I can have a standings overlay in addition to my "driver's eye" view - my father-in-law enjoys my racing videos for some reason - but get very low quality video with graininess and boatloads of dropped frames. Also, I have to ask - how do you have an F1 overlay w/ your driver's eye cam?

No I’m recording the overlay on a second PC. The GoPro footage never touches OBS

No there’s no partnership. I don’t use the Ascher wheel for these F1 videos because it doesn’t have a screen. 😂

I sometimes wonder why is it that all those 'top shots' in F1 e-sports, such as Jarno Opmeer, don't race with the same camera setup as yours? It's an almost exact replica of what a real F1 driver sees and feels, and yet the whole lot of them still race on TV-POD view. If Boosted Media can do it, why not the rest of them in a professional e-sport?

It’s a lot easier to drive in the view they use as you can position the car much better and situational awareness is far better too. Plus this rig is prohibitively complex and expensive for esports use. I’d be wayyyyy faster if I used the same view as they do but that’s not really the point. :)

@@boostedmedia Makes sense and I absolutely agree. I play this game with a measly ps4 controller (that's it) yet I still use cockpit. Granted I remove the middle but it's just so much more immersive and fun in my opinion. Anyway, looking forward to Baku! Don't forget to replace those engine parts in the setup section before the next race, otherwise your engine wear will get worse ;)

It's all to be faster. They would hate for all the regular fast people on the time trials tables to have faster times than they do. BUUUUUUUUUT, if every E-sports driver was forced to cockpit cam (as I believe they should), then that would rock. I get the spatial awareness, but the playing field would be equal.

@@codyrunsfast1 Agreed. It's not much of a 'simulation' if you are sitting on the roof of the car. Also, ban the look behind button and force them to use mirrors. I think esports should make the move to VR personally.

Doesn’t work with the layout of the rig. The Merc is literally the only car that works with my setup without things looking out of perspective because of the lack of triple screen support and proper adjustments.

Leclair for Leclerc please. and the gearbox repair is absolute bs. when this happens IRL, it's either you stay on track with it or you retire. no repair possible. it's a freakin simulation.
