🟣 Asexual Note! 🟣 The last segment about the Gorons was hard for me write. I am someone who struggled with technicalities and such. To clarify better, i am not trying to suggest that they are asexuel but their reproduction is. Which results in the Gerudo allowing them. The Gorons reproduction simply is an asexual type of reproduction. That is what I was trying to say. If I miss-worded anything please let me know as I would love to improve my understanding. I love you all, no matter your sexuality, gender, race etc. Everyone is welcome here 💜 Keep up to date here! - twitter.com/Hyrule_101

Plus they all say "brother" to each other. Which could just be a quirk of their language (I've met people who call everyone 'cousin' or 'dude' or 'bro' regardless of relation or gender). Which would explain why Hylians think of them as "male" even if they don't have a gender.

I always like to think there’s a guy at Nintendo named Larry who’s responsible for various “mysteries” because he accidentally forgot to do something, like putting monsters in the camp or forgetting to put a chest on Mekar Island. The “abandoned” monster camp near dueling peaks has a merchant that sells only meat. He walks back and forth off the path to the stables. Always thought it was a bit weird how obsessed he was with meat. And the location with the cooking pot. Even though I guess you would just get guts I thought maybe he was getting his meat from the bokoblins. Running some odd meat trade. Maybe he gets his meat not from the bokoblins but from any poor souls who set up camp and are raided at night by the nearby hord lying in wait. WHO KNOWS.

He sells only meat because there are multiple merchants that sells just one specific comestible, one sells only vegetables one’s selling just mushrooms one’s for froots there is even one that sells only fish and i think one sells only cereals. Knowing all of this makes me no wonder why there is a merchant selling nothing but meat. People are intepreting way to much these days on the most trivial things. It’s just incredible. At least there are still some smart guys out there, like me that can debunk all of this bs with just straight up fact’s.

It would also make sense that the Gerudo let Gorons in due to them having no interest in women the same way the other males like Hylians and the other two species would. @Zachary Erickson Given that there aren't any actual Gorons in ALBW, its less likely that he is an actual Goron-Hylian hybrid, and more likely a "descendent" in a more vague sense, such as continuing their tasks/role on Death Mountain. Or being a direct reincarnation of the fire sage into a Hylian body because the Gorons died out or left Hyrule. There's little reason to believe that he is even part-Goron.

My theory is that the Tingel Island group were part of the mining operation in Akkala. There's a good number of ore deposits on the islands themselves, and the Islands are to the east of Ulria Grotto, another mining site. There's also the ruins of a house not far from the bridge to Davdi Island, with a pair of luminous stones and an iron sledgehammer. Maybe some of the miners also worked the islands? Can't really explain the Guardians without diving deep into speculation; maybe there was a bigger bridge that the miners or soldiers blew?

The abandoned camp is most likely explained as the developer teaching the player. By pointing link toward the direction of this camp he will come across it without any monsters around and can explore. Later when he encounters camps with monsters he will just naturally make that association. It's a way to slowly add to the player's knowledge of the game in a safe way.

My theory of how the Guardians got onto Tingel Island: they scaled the cliffs. They have long metal legs with heavy claws on the end, and at least the flying ones have scanners to assess the surroundings(been a while since I played so I can't remember if the walking ones had scanners but the flying ones definitely do). What if the flying ones were there to assess the landscape and enemy formation on the tall cliffs and feed it back to the walking ones, who would then scale the cliff in the safest possible place and act as reinforcements for the flying ones in taking out the enemies on Tingel Island?

Simple. 1, Sheikah Monks are the greatest fighters amongst the Sheikah, mummified in the Japanese art of Shinjutsu to preserve themselves to wait until the Hero would return. 2, Gorons, while an all-male species (as far as I can remember, but I might be wrong), reproduce asexually, as there are (again, if I'm correct) no female Gorons ever shown or spoken of. Excepting, of course, a single female Goron in the Majora's Mask manga, but the author herself confirmed that the manga isn't canon.

I was thinking about the Gorons' mystery while studying for my biology exam, and i realized something. If they reproduce asexualy, it would explain why they have always looked the same way since Skyward Sword, the first chronological game (I'm not specialised on the topic, but asexual reproduction leads all the descendants to look identical I believe, since there isn't any recombination). @venkelos6996
@venkelos6996 3 жыл бұрын
For me, the idea of men in Gerudo Town is a combination of competition and nerves. If men were allowed in, some vais might fight over them, or try to show each other up. It's better that they leave alone, and go find their mate, rather than deal with each other, or feel nervous in their own home. As for the Gorons, even if they were male, breeding people, nothing says they could mate with Hylians, Gerudo, or anything else. It's possibly part of what makes the Zora romances (Ruto and Mipha) a bit tragic; even were their love returned, I doubt they could breed with Hylians. Since the Gorons aren't an option, no one has to feel flustered, competitive, or worse over them. Granted, I don't know why, be that the case, Rito and Zoras are not allotted the same courtesy, but maybe the Gorons are special because they couldn't visit, otherwise, having no females, and the Gerudo do want to seem hospitable. It's the one exception made, and they won't go further, because tradition.

I always assumed the empty camp was occupied until you sent up the towers and scared them off (since they’re low level monsters). The islands seem to be a geographical change from during the 100 years, rising the islands from peninsulas up into pillars, and likely act as a form of challenge to the few people still around who seek thrills. The King’s Grave could in fact be: the Kings’ Grave. A ceremonial place where kings were buried, which has since been smoothed over by time, and Rhoam stands beside it in penance, knowing he failed his predecessors and will never be laid to rest beside them.

Another thing to add to the Goron mystery, in Age of Calamity there is a side quest where there is a tournament in Gerudo town, and you have to fight other female characters. It's called the miss vai battle pageant, and if you go to switch the player you fight as you cannot choose a male character because men are not allowed, you can only choose people who are allowed into the town. ( so you cant choose revali, teba, sidon, etc. their character sections are grayed out) However, you CAN go fight in the tournament as daruk, yunobo, hestu, and monk maz koshia. I don't know what to do with that information so there you go.

In a previous video you had talked about the mystery of the Tarrey Town goddess statue. My theory about this is that the small circular area of land where Tarrey Town gets built is perhaps the only part of Akkala that never gets struck by lightning. Maybe the ancient settlers saw this as a miracle and built the goddess statue there. It's also possible that Tarrey Town gets built because Hudson knows that it will never get struck by lightning.

The Gorons are certainly a mystery. It wasn't until Breath of the Wild that there was a significant distinction between the male and female of any given non-human tribe. If one looks closely, one can see a difference in what they wear: Zora Male - Diamond patterns in their ornamentation. Female - Round or flower shaped patterns in their ornamentation. Rito Male - Wear shoulder guards, usually have braids, particularly the warriors. Female - Have long "hair", appear to wear large earrings, wear small or nonexistent shoulder guards. It should be noted that the armor Link buys or receives is always reflective of what the males wear. You can see the diamond pattern in the Zora armor, and a similar comparison can be made with the Rito armor. The Goron armor has no such distinction however. No matter what you compare, whether it be hair style (reflected in the helm), chest decor, or the loincloth (style or way it is tied), there is not a definite pattern for either sex, and it seems like there are more differences than similarities. Not even "Creating A Champion" gives one like it does for the others. There is just one basic concept. Since their introduction into the series they have always referred to one another and any they accept into their tribe as "brother", regardless of whether they are actually a relative. They can clearly have sons or even siblings, but as to how is a mystery until Nintendo decides to give an answer. My personal theory is that there are females, but like the dwarves in "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" they are few and resemble the males so much that people think there are no dwarf women and that dwarves "grow out of stone".

The Goron part makes sense to me! How else would they be able to reproduce!? Had there been Goron females then we would have seen them by now. So the conclusion that the Gorons are biologically asexual with primarily masculine traits does carry some weight. Probably explains why all of them keep calling each other brother, the entire race is essensially one big clan! So unless the sequel spontaneously yeets out a female goron, I'll keep to this one! Through they could just pop out of the ground for all I know.

My theory for tingel islands relates to that other theory about how the developers were originally going to have another race of tiny ppl in the game but axed it at the last minute. I think there are a lot of relics in akkala and architecture in Tarrey town that would suggest that, and I think there were probably colonies living on the tingel islands. That would explain why the guardians would be there to destroy the tiny villages, and why there would have been travel routes and camps for trading and such.

That's not entirely accurate. There are active, if immobile, Guardians at the Eastern Abbey. However, I do agree that some soldiers survived the attack on the plateau and buried the King on Mt. Hylia. Not only did AoC basically confirm the King was on the Plateau during the Calamity, but we can also find soldier's weapons in the cave underneath the waterfall at the bottom of the mountain in BotW.

I think the monster camp is pretty simple, like you said that road is one of the first a player will take, therefore it is almost still part of the tutorial, I think the devs put it in so that #1 a player could get accustomed to monster camps (but not get killed by monsters in the first 2 minutes of real gameplay) and #2 get some good supplies (at that point an axe was really good) so that when you came across your first real monster camp right up the road it would be familiar to you and you would have a chance of beating it
@kingdaniel3519

This is my theory on how the King's grave came to be on top of Mt. Hylia. I hope you enjoy reading it. King Rhoam escaped the Castle through the docks, along with some others, and fled to the Great Plateau. They were pursued and eventually defeated by Guardians while taking refuge in the Temple of Time and the Eastern Abby. The Great Plateau would offer physical defense due to its elevation and restricted entrance. It's close to both the Kolomo and Hyrule Garrisons as well as several settlements and the entrance could be collapsed to deny any would-be invader from easily reaching the Plateau (as currently seen in the game). Most importantly, the only places we find Guardians on the Great Plateau are the main entrance to the Plateau, the Temple of Time, Eastern Abby, and around the northern edge of the River of the Dead leading towards Mt Hylia. Picture this: The King is in his secret study hidden in the Library, writing what would be his final entry in his diary. The castle begins to shake and tremor! There's a thunderous roar as Calamity Ganon arises from underneath the Castle. The Guardians begin attacking the researchers and soldiers all around the Castle. King Rhoam and his Royal Guard retreat through the castle as the Guardians begin advancing, soldiers dropping all around them. They flee through a hidden passage leading to the docks. There, they board whatever vessels can be found. The King and his guard disembark and land near the Castle Town Prison, gathering as many soldiers and prisoners as they can. King Rhoam gazes up towards his home as Calamity Ganon heaves another mighty roar. Already smoke and flames envelope the Castle, the Calamity's reign of death and destruction has finally begun. The screams and cries of the unfortunate souls still trapped inside Castle can be clearly heard above the din of constant explosions. The King and his people hastily skirt the western edge of Castle Town, evacuating everyone they can find along the way. The castle goes eerily silent as the Guardians begin attacking Castle Town. The King's path takes them through the Quarry towards the Mt Gustaf road. The Guardians are beginning to give chase. They continue south, passing close to the Hyrule Garrison and the Exchange. There they gather even more soldiers and citizenry. Soon, they come upon Gatepost Town and round up the last remaining people that can be quickly gathered as they enter the Great Plateau gate, still doggedly pursued by the advancing Guardian army. The Guardians begin invading the Great Plateau after the fleeing citizens, the soldiers are no match for the mechanical monstrosities. The King orders the entrance destroyed as the weary people seek shelter inside the Temple of Time and Eastern Abby, hoping and praying for an end from this waking nightmare. To the horror of everyone, the Guardians begin scaling the outer walls with ease, even as the stone face crumbles under their weight. The King and soldiers fall back to the Temple of Time. It is, after all, the birthplace of the kingdom and the most holy site in all of Hyrule. If there were any divine intervention from this terror, they believe it would originate from the Temple. The Guardians surround the Eastern Abby, utterly destroying it along with the fearful people still huddled inside. Soldiers and townsfolk alike are fighting tooth and nail against the wave of Guardians, but still they advance. The three Goddess Temples in front of the Temple of Time are destroyed. So many people have perished. The Guardians are now advancing on the Temple of Time itself! King Rhoam now realizes this is the end. There is no salvation or intervention to be found here, only death. Showing the bravery that has defined his entire life, he defiantly draws his sword and strikes at the nearest Guardian! But, his strike falls short and he is mortally wounded by the mechanical monstrosity. His remaining Royal Guards quickly carry him back inside the Temple. The soldiers destroy many of the Guardians at the very steps of the Temple, but a Guardian slips by on the left and destroys the outer wall. As it begins to climb inside the Temple, the King takes his last breath. The King's efforts were in vain but not fruitless. His final display of courage has spurred his few remaining people to new heights, fighting with a savagery and fury never seen before. The remaining defenders rally against the attacking Guardians, crying in agony "LONG LIVE THE KING!". The few remaining guards collect the King's body and retreat as the Temple is finally overrun. Still fending off the last attacking Guardians while carrying the King's body, they move along the northern bank of the River of the Dead. They arrive at the river's crossing as the last pursuing Guardians are destroyed. They cross the river but have no where else to go. The guards take shelter inside a cave hidden behind a waterfall as they decide what to do next. After some debate, they decide to inter the King on top of Mt Hylia where his spirit can overlook the land and castle he once reigned over. One hundred years later, the King's spirit waits upon the Great Plateau. Waiting, for the fallen Hero to awaken from the Shrine of Resurrection to finally defeat Calamity Ganon and save his precious daughter.

I believe that the guardians on the tingle and brothers islands were actually excavated after the calamity but the stalkers were still disabled and were unabled to turn back on but the skywatchers were able to turn on. Ganon possibly found a way to move some of his malice to far locations. The monsters probably killed the excavators and an archer tried to stop them when it was too late, and when taking his final breath, placed his bow near a checkpoint-like creation to make a memorial for himself and the the excavators who worked there.

After freeing the divine beast Vah Ruta you can talk to one of the Zora guards named Dunma. After she mentions Link freeing the beast she then says "I should have expected as much from the Hylian Champion... I will continue to pray for good fortune in the coming war." She makes nor further mentions of this coming war, and I couldn't find anything else about the Zora going to war. One suggestion I was given by a fellow commentor was that this was left in from something cut, which could make sense due to the lack of any other mentions of this upcoming war. Who would the zora even be going to war with anyway?

It was probably supposed to represent the war against Ganon where he gets defeated (obviously the citizens of Hyrule were going to defeat him, he wouldn't be defeated without a fight, so a war would logically ensue), possibly the Zora just expected a war to happen, not that one was ever supposed to happen.

re: the abandoned enemy/boko camp near dueling peaks- I made up a headcanon where they gave up living on that side of the Squabble River because they don't swim and someone tried to cross it and drowned (it's a really fast-moving river). They eventually found their way to the Big Twin Bridge or something and crossed, and decided to stay on that side, where they would have more access to South Nabi Lake or Bubinga forest for hunting and fishing with less danger. IDK- there's most likely no in-story reason for the camp to be abandoned- Maybe the devs thought that they were making the game too difficult, with too many enemy camps so early in-game (enemy camps to the North on the South shore of Squabble River, on North shore of the river near S. Nabi Lake, in East Post Ruins, Outpost Ruins, the Forest of Time)- PLUS the introduction of Lizalfos in the river itself- maybe they thought just to make it a bit easier for players, get rid of one camp and turn it into a little pit stop for the player.

I feel like entry into Gerudo town isn't really about being voe or vai. Even after the leadership of the town acknowledges they know it was you, Link, the voe, the whole time, they still let you wonder around town, yet the guards still stop you unless you are wearing the traditional vai clothing. I've always interpreted it as acknowledging that gender is entirely a social construct. I think this is because it is about preventing the sort of masculinity that would treat the Gerudo as lesser for being female, I think in their eyes, any voe willing to dress as vai are no longer seen as threats. A lot of voe attempting to get into the town are only trying to do so for the weird fantasy of being the only male surrounded by beautiful females, but when someone is 'dressing like a woman', they forego part of the masculine ideals they were previously upholding, and the Gerudo respect that. This is why the Gorons are allowed in. As pointed out in the video, it's highly likely that the Gorons reproduce asexually, and as such there are no biological females in the group, but there are also no biological males, its just that the Gorons all identify as male, but through this they have a more nuanced view on gender than the average binary sex Hyrulean does, and don't threaten the peace held in Gerudo town by trying to assert male dominance over it. (There is also precedence over this in our world, history repeatedly ignores the achievements of women in every field in almost any time and attributes them to a man instead, and retroactively discredits female power as being impossible) I think in some way, by making anyone that wants to enter Gerudo town dress like a vai to gain this entry, the Gerudo are able to assert a sort of power over them. They are able to make them live life through the lens of a woman. Link even experiences this once he gains the Gerudo outfit. A traveller outside goes from being harsh and rude to being patronising and creepy since now he thinks Link is a girl.

I always saw the goron's gendering being that, none of them really have or need gender (because who needs gender when you can have rocks), but because of their interactions with Hylians (I think cisnormativity or whatever, basically the assumption that everyone will fit into the two little boxes, etc, etc, I'm not really good at explaining), given that, to the hylians they seemed more masculine than feminine, they were referred to as men, despite them not really being so. I'm pretty sure that this has happened in real life aswell? Like when Europe was colonising everywhere? (I'm not quite sure, I'd google it to check.) Also, I do think that wether you can enter gerudo town or not is based on your gender, not your sex, as well as being more 'not men' than 'only women'

If the Gorons are actually asexual, then they cannot be male as asexual beings have no gender; they do not have separate male and female reproductive organs and reproduce sexually. So the idea that they are both male and asexual actually does not make sense scientifically. However, since the Gorons have physical appearances that are typical of human males, it is understandable that we will think of them as males even though they cannot reproduce sexually if they are asexual. This thinking is a result in a common belief in society that organisms are either male or female and reproduce sexually. That is actually far from the truth as there numberous exceptions, such as the asexual reproduction of ameobas (lower animals) and bacteria. Anyway, Nintendo needs to address the sexuality of the Gorons so to settle this Zelda mystery that goes back to the Gorons' debut in Ocarina of Time.

Not disagreeing with this comment but there actually are some organisms that have a male/female/hermaphrodite sex and can still reproduce asexually, though not exclusively. Most fungi and plants, parasites, lizards, etc. all have some members that can do both. Various sharks, komodo dragons, and Burmese pythons to name a few

In fairness, we do know of people that arrived on the plateau after the calamity that would likely have been aware that the king was dead. In one of the memories, we see Zelda instruct a group of Sheikah to take Link to the Shrine of Resurrection while she goes to hold Calamity Ganon in check. In all likelihood, these Sheikah were well aware of the state of Hyrule Castle at the time, so it can be assumed they knew the king was dead. The mountain (and grave) in question isn't all too far from the shrine, so it's reasonable that they could have built a monument in honor of the fallen king.

For the 2nd mystery, in the second DLC (champions ballad) for Miphas song one of the shrine thingys is that you have to go to akkala and speak with Muzu and one of the guards. And Muzu says that they are there to watch the islands under Sidons orders and he’ll mention how the islands used to be where mipha trained before the calamity so maybe? The checkpoints and stuff were there for that reason? Ik it doesn’t really help out with the question as to how the guardian stalkers got there but that might be another reason as to why there’s supplies and stuff there

Okay first thing: I watched this video right after hearing some very hurtful gender comments from my mother (I'm nonbinary but closeted to my family). Thanks for helping me feel better and also for affirming ace existence (I am also asexual!). Now here's my two cents on the Gorons being allowed into Gerudo Town: I think that Gorons are agender, meaning that they have no gender, but most prefer to use he/him pronouns, leading most to think they're male. Gerudo law states that no men are allowed in Gerudo Town, but we never hear anything about nonbinary or agender people not being allowed in. They must get a pass due to straight up not having a gender. Also I found the asexual reproduction theory really cool! I've been wondering how they reproduce.

Regarding the abandoned monster camps. I am pretty sure they set it up as a trap, because when you actually set foot on the floor above ground, Chu Chus start falling from the tree and are hidden in the barrels that stand around. They most likely assume you'd not sleep on the ground, because that would make you an easy target, but come up to sleep there. Where they then ambush you.

My guess for the second mystery is that there used to be natural bridges, large enough for the Guardians to use, but they were either destroyed or eroded away in the last hundred years. Shoreline erosions are one of the fastest.

i bet tingel island and its brother islands were once part of the mainland, but got separated by some kind of tectonic shift. the guardian you showed in the video wasn’t active, so I assume it was one that wasn’t actually dug up by the royal family, but rather one that became exposed due to more natural causes.

For the 2nd mystery, I'm pretty sure the Champion's Ballad DLC says that Mipha spent some time training on those islands, and there's a champion's ballad shrine there too, so the old things there could have been for here to stay there for longer time periods and the old guardians put there for her to train against

Don't think the devs forgot to put the bokoblins there, but decided to remove them so a new player can have a peaceful side of the river through dueling peaks if they were to choose. I don't think the trailer meant anything significant for the islands. It was likely just footage captured to look interesting for it (speaking from experience, I've had to get screenshots that are marketable). Tbh I honestly always figured the reason Gorons are allowed in is cuz they're respectable. Unlike the hylians you see lurking around outside gerudo town the Gorons in there mostly seem there for business and - while nervous Abt it - pretty outwardly calm and not making a huge deal about it.

On my first playthrough I was really dumb and wandered all the way through the snowy area by holding a torch and repeatedly lighting campfires to keep me warm. So, naturally, I came across that one monster camp with the drawbridge and the blue bokoblin. I’ve been a bit afraid of them ever since. There’s at least one other empty camp that I can think of, I know it’s along a coastal area, maybe down by Lurelin. I remember coming across the one by Dueling Peaks and basically freezing up because of the “traumatizing” experience with the last boko camp.

Maybe the guardian is from 10,000 years ago and back then the islands were more of a peninsula with land to cross over. But by the time it was found again there was no practical way to move it back to the mainland. The camp would be newer- maybe an adventurer or even someone like Robbie looking for scraps who got run off by the flying guardians?

In regards to the Kings grave, I belive it was built by soldier who were on the plateau with him when he died, or perhaps ones who carried him there after his death. We know that there was a last stand on the great plateau and I think it's reasonable to suggest that some of the soldiers may have escaped considering that the Sheikh were able to access the plateau with Link's body. There is also the collection of soldiers gear, found behind the waterfall on the great plateau; suggesting that soldier dumped it there in case they needed it again. I think that those same soldiers were most likely the ones to bury King Rhoam.

Just an idea: What if that guardian on one of those Tingle islands got yeeted or smacked by a divine beast (Vah Ruta) and it landed there? During the war probably?!

theory about tingle islands: I propose they used to have some sort of hylian military base, which is why there are guardians there, either they attacked it during the calamity or were brought there by hylians. Backing up my theory about a military base is the fact it would be hard to invade, anyone trying to attack would have to cross narrow bridges which could be cut down easily.

note about the Kings Grave on the Plateau, it's impossible for the King to have died on the Plateau as in the kings secret study we find his diary where it's implied Rhoam died in that study or somewhere in the castle. but what we do know (from the Age of Calamity game), during the Calamity is that there was a battle on the Plateau, so it could be a assumed a soldier or someone who survived that lost battle built the grave as a goodbye to Hyrule maybe? that's just my thoughts on that mystery. people and soldiers def lived on the Plateau though so someone who was alive after or maybe even during the battle would've built it

The Great Plateau was still accessible a short time after Calamity Ganon. How else would the Sheikah bring Link in the Shrine of Resurrection? I guess they passed by, leave some stones to honour the King, and exploded the Plateau entrance while leaving
