Man this is exactly what happened to me today for the first time. I almost got it towed when it somehow worked after an hour of my coworkers trying to jump the battery. Much thanks. Hopefully this works everytime.

It look like it might have been the park sensor. Meaning cars won't crank if it doesn't see that the car is in park. So looking at what you just did taking it out of park and put it back in park and then it crank up. That might have been an issue.

If you put your keys in the door cup or your left pocket, it will cause this bc sometimes itll think the key is outside the car. To mostly avoid this issue just keep your key fob somewhere near the middle of the car like the cupholders or something

Have the same car. Mine is not cranking but all lights are on. I hope warranty covers starter if it is a starter problem.

Anyone having these issues just take it to dealership and have the starter replaced. It will save you time and grief. I just replaced mine on a 2015 Genesis. The first time it will not start just take it in and have it replaced. $1300.00 parts and labor.

My car: 2015 Hyundai Genesis Ultimate My car was doing the same thing. Turns out I needed to tighten the bolts that hold the battery in place ( battery had shifted and the wires got a little loose) Also had to tighten the bolts on the battery terminals. Hope this helps

I have a 2015 5.0 and occasionally after a short stop and returning to leave, it will do a long crank where it turns over for 10 to 15 seconds before firing. It will idle rough and every light on the dash comes on. Turn it off and back on and it's starts like nothing ever happened. Frustrating and embarrassing.

It’s the battery I got the same problem put a jump box on the terminals and start right up

Cost me $980 to fix it at the dealership. And yeah it was a starter.

It’s a fuse I promise you! I had the same problem for two years! Took it to two different dealerships and they couldn’t figure it out. Took out ignition fuse and put it back in and never had that problem again! It’s the anti-theft system. Trust me

Have a 2012 4.6L genesis. Engine seized at 90,000 miles. Second owner, Warranty for drive train went down to 60,000. I'm screwwed...

it may be start motor problem. start solenoid is intermittent not working.

thank you sir ine is doing the same but does any one know what is the main problem? park switch?break pedal switch? i don't think it is starter because shifting it form part to drive and back to park does not reset starter.

this happened to me 2019. 33k miles. I have the shift by wire set up. they are replacing the starter. no reason for this kinda shit at 33k lol

It was the neutral safety switch

My issue started at about 60k miles

Those cars are nice but still it’s a Hyundai 🙄 not a Honda or Toyota I was able to pick one 2014 model up from Facebook marketplace for $1500 dollars because of a no start condition the young lady owner just wanted to get rid of it she bought a Honda as a replacement lol 😂

My genesis do same thing!!! First I put new battery wtf I got a 2019 G80
