I have a 2016 Tucson. Both front windows quit working. The front passenger was intermittent for a while then stopped then finally the driver window stopped working after a while. I tested power and grounds and all was good. I removed the door panels and removed the motors. I twisted backwards on the gear making sure not to damage and the window went down about 1/4 inch. I reinstalled the motors and it worked fine. This fixed both windows no parts required. What is happening is the windows overtime get out of sync with the up and down limits and it will bind the motor when the window is up. The motor does not have enough strength the break this binding and get started. After backing off the tension and reinstalling the motor (3 bolts, very easy) they both work great. I wonder how many regulators have been replaced because of this limit switch issue. What made me try this is I could hear the motor trying to engage when I activated the switch down. So I knew the motor was working. By the way, a mechanic told me these motors are tough and hardly ever go out.

That 3 inch big white tab by the door latch that she had problems with detaching can be a bear to slide back on the new part. I had to use a wire hook i made to pull the white tab while aligning the black grooves on the new part. also, notice she attaches the window while motor is still off. If you put the motor on and then attach the window it can catch on some models, like mine. Other than she explains everything you have to do clearly. I did mine today. Bring a lunch.

I got stuck briefly at 13:35. The white section of the door latch visible in the video slides into the black section of the regulator. Pull towards the front of the car on the black part while simultaneously pushing the white part towards the rear. It should not take a lot of force The rest is straightforward and mainly dealing with push pins and connectors. This was a lot easier than a Dodge Ram truck I recently did

Great video. I wads wondering how to motor knows the stop positions with the new panel? Since the regulator could broke down any any position, unknown at the beginning of the replacement. It is pity that you need to remove so much material if only the cog or wire could be wared out.

Thank you! I had to replace my driver window regulator this morning and your video was a huge help! I have a 2016 Tucson limited sport turbo and I have had so many issues with it lately. 3 months ago I paid the dealership $1000 to fix the regulator for my front passenger window amongst a bunch of other things, and this time I did it myself for just the cost of the part at $90. I took what I could from this video and two others (links below) and had a very easy time replacing this part. On my Tucson, the one major difference was that the driver side had an extra wire attached once you unlocked it from the white plastic piece. When the panel was completely removed, I had to disengage the electrical from the inside panel, the area near the hinges of the door and feed that end through. There's a portion of this video that helped with that part. Why did you replace the whole panel. All you needed to replace was the white plastic regulator drum gear that the motor shaft goes into. Advanced auto sells them for $24.95.

So I have to replace mine. Bit of can't find the actual panel online. They want to sell it without the motor

I own 4 Hyundai autos, 2014- 2019. This 2016 Tucson, with its bobo door locks and window regulators, is the reason I will NEVER buy another one!

You should replace both at the same time otherwise your taking a gamble that one will cause the other to fail.
