Alex is such a nice guy. His show ("Just for Us") - slightly changed from what he did last year Off-Broadway - is currently playing ON Broadway @ the Hudson Theater for a 9-week limited run! A group of 6 of us, who'd all seen him perform off-Bway just went to see him on Bway this past Sat night. Even though we'd heard some of the jokes before (& we'd all already heard both the Christmas story AND the story set in Queens that inspired the "Just for Us" name), we laughed our tuchuses off... though tbh I resented Alex making comments about how the audience had come to see the show on Shabbos (as he called it), esp while he himself was actively working on Shabbat (not exactly saving lives): he did a Sat matinee in addition to the Sat night show. For us, going to his show might not be in the spirit of Shabbat, but the way we did it broke no rules at all. And - not to criticize too much, since I do like Alex & wish him every success - I wish he'd stop saying "Frozen Chosen" as if he made it up: it's a phrase famously introduced by Michael Chabon in his 2007 novel "The Yiddish Policemen's Union." Otoh, "shul runnings" is fine.
