The advices Nelson didn't like are actually good advices for more experienced players who have an easier time spotting weaknesses, queentrap patterns and are better at calculating so they can play more seemingly risky moves because they know it works out. If you're on the lower elos just stick with the easier principles that Nelson approved of, the higher you get the more you need to break principles because positions demand calculations instead of autopilot moves based on common knowledge. So ChatGPT was actually cooking with this one, counterattacking is the high level play of punishing queen attacks.

As he said, they ARE good advice. Just not really relevant to the specific scenario of how to respond to early Queen attacks.

What a minute. I actually disagree with you. This isn't speed chess. Early queen attack can and has lead to key vulnerabilities in the position. If you ONLY focus on development and trying to gain tempo then you can miss a clear blunder where a vulnerability can lead to great material gain or mate. It doesn't hurt to look for such things along with development and tempo gaining moves.

That is so smart... wow inside of the mind of a master.. Also, could you perhaps show us more of these videos where we counter beginner moves like that to gain momentum in games to win ? I mean there is a lot, the rook pin with bishop in centre development etc, I know you know exactly what I mean. Otherwise thumbs up nailing it as always ! Huge fan !

Which model did you use, Nelson? Is it 3.5, 4, or 4o?

One thing I have realized is that the Gretzky effect applies to chess. Defend the opponents next attack, not the one they just performed. Someone asked him why he was so great. Because I go where the puck is going to be, not where it is. Hence the knight covering the pawn. Since we know that is the only undefended piece. The queen will rarely attack things that are defended due to her value.

Is the kitty gambit really good? Sacking a central pawn for minor development might not be great for your end game and mid because the tempo isn’t towards a clear advantage or threat

Hey Nelson, can you make a video about how you became a national master and what your daily training routine looks like to stay sharp, think smart and take care😊? Looking for tips how masters train!

I didn't read the counter attack or the trap queen like u did. I think look for traps and look for the vulnerability

Yes, you should develop your pieces for any opening. But it's an added bonus when you can do TWO objectives at once; attacking the queen and developing pieces.

Forgive me for making a blatantly obvious observation (I'm probably an ELO of 45, lol), but it seems that the three points that Nelson upvoted all tie together. When you are able to develop pieces that attack the queen, you are gaining tempo against your opponent. Sometimes, a tactic you employ does two or three things at once. Based on the advice given and games/puzzles i have watched, if you can do this often, you can get a major advantage on your opponent. Good video, sir. Thank you.

But the advice of GTP is not terrible, but is general. I may but one more general advice. Don't play mechanical. Many times the looks like best move is actually a big blunder.
