He said a “silver air dribble” so when he freaked out he was acting like a silver would act from that shot, although he really wouldn’t react like that in reality because as you saw from the second shot, he’s decent at them

I mean, it’s one thing being able to pull off a a fancy mechanic, it’s another being able to use it effectively without putting yourself at a disadvantage. Many players make the mistake of thinking the way to get good at RL is to master the fancy tricks they see pros doing. But if you’re neglecting the core skills that make a solid play (situational awareness, rotation, reading your opponent etc) you’re actually less likely to rank up than someone that focuses on less flashy things.

@@Barrybeastmode See some ppl find joy in freestyling and not playing comp. You can't just expect everyone who has good mechanics at a low rank to be a comp main. I play comp and at diamond I can't hit a basic flick consistently but this is my take.

@@mishel_cuz-_-1840 You can see he’s got the skill to do a clean air dribble (he also did a full one right after) but in this attempt you can clearly see he is doing a great setup, and in the middle of it he just stops for no reason other than not looking too good. I’m just annoyed that people like this ruin it for actual silvers that try to do their best

It's a pretty simple mechanic, just practice with timing and air roll! I didn't learn it until champ either, but i've seen plats who can freestyle better than I can so.

@@MatraTIX false. when I was silver I was very focused on mechanics and was way better at mechanics than other silvers. I frequently went into free play and practiced mechanics and eventually started to implement them into my real games. I believe that that silver is an actual silver.

With wavedashes it kinda clicks and then you got the muscle memory. They aren't really hard but you can't do them first try without some tutorial.

Once you know how to do a wavedash you are rarely going to mess it up because theres a lot of room for error and its not that difficult a mechanic, but for something like flip resets or rebounds even if you know how to do them it still takes a lot of training

Thats definetly what I was abt to say, even those camera settings were a big tip off, even when players in Plat were good back before Epic took over, Plats were doing Ceiling shots with no freestyle at the MOST no one was doing fucking flip resets lmao. Im in Diamond now and still no ones doing it, although im in Diamond during Epic era so who knows.
