Small correction for that chatter about Blackboard. The card only wants clubs or spades, it says nothing about the other suites. I've tested it before and wild cards still enable Blackboard.

Indeed, wildcard is all suits, so it is a red and a black suit at the same time. Blackboard only checks if it is not if it isn't. The dev reworded all ambiguous jokers since the beta. Note that with a wording like "if you don't have any diamonds or hearts" it would screw you over, just like it screws you over in suit bosses.

Debuffed wild cards that were diamonds or hearts will be reverted to their original suit, and then Blackboard doesn't go off. That's a bit vague, but understandable since wild card is an enhancement that gets cancelled via debuffs.

@@nemesis041 Ah yea that's a good point. I don't remember if he was facing debuffs when the interaction came up and I don't care to look for it lol, but that distinction definitely matters in those boss situations.

i bought Balatro today and learned that if raised fist hits a red seal card it triggers raised fist twice, idk if you knew but i think it's good to know! amazing video as always and congrats on getting the gold stake on stream :)

It’s a good strat for steel cards as well. If you look at some high score runs, they use red seal on both glass and steel.

I had a run with Midas and Vampire the other day as they combo so well (got to 500 gold and x30 on the vampire by the end lol) So just wanted to add that replaying a card (red seal, saltzer or any other) does not affect them. They only go once when you play the hand. But the gold coupon joker does work tho (you need to put the midas after the vampire)

If you have a card on screen, (like mercury) you can’t get that from packs or re rolling
