This was the same RV used in breaking bad! I bought this 1987 Fleetwood Bounder RV of craigslist for $1000. Let's see what's wrong with it! It has the Chevy 454.

yeah honestly I am looking at an rv that is about a decade older than that one, they are asking the same process but honestly with as much work as it needs I am going to try to get it for 300, I mean just in paperwork alone, it does not have a title, so basically I am going to have to get a vermont registration, and then use that to get a title in my state, so just in that alone I am going to spend at least 350 close to 400 just to get it titled, it also does not have keys but considering its age I could get a key made for super cheap, it also does not run but from what it looks like it should not be super hard to get running as from the looks of it the problems are not the engine itself but pumps and such but it will still be a bit of work, plus the inside is very not good so I will have to pay in total about 2k minimum to get it go decent condition but it will probably be worth it

It's so full of rot it's going to need a lot of time and $ to fix up. I worked in my stepdad & mom's RV shops as a young man and we woudn't tackle jobs like this. However, if you're good at building and 1x2 construction and really good at making things fit and have a lot of time it could be fixed

Looks like you could fix it up and make it livable. FIX THE ROOF!!! Get on top and do a quick inspection. Tarp it if necessary!!! Next, empty all your water storage. Black, grey, and fresh. If that stuff freezes up, it breaks stuff. Find your control panel, open cabinets until you find it. This will give you battery voltage, maybe some circuit breakers, levels for fresh water, grey water, black water, and propane level. See if the gennie runs....make sure you have at least a half-tank of fuel or it won't start. Look for manuals it all drawers and cupboards....quite helpful! And....KZfaq is your friend! Best wishes!!!!!

Looking at buying a used class A myself and have watched more than one KZfaq video on doing these kinds of repairs, like resealing a roof. Think your biggest bugaboo isn't going to be the leaky roof, but how about possible black mold?

I'm a semi truck driver and I like driving big stuff. Cool score. Hope you get it fixed up good. Right off the bat I would suggest headers for your exhaust system. They help that motor breathe better. That suspension was looking kind of weak. Also invest in some centramatic wheel balancers. Too bad it's carbureted. That's really going to suck the fuel down. Do a good job of waterproofing everything on it, fix it up on the inside, looks like a good fun project now. Good luck.

I think that's a pretty good deal. I would get some plastic tarps and cover the roof and maybe the walls also so no more moisture to get in. But I think it's a great project and you'll get a lot of use out of it. I would see and want to know what the extent of the wood rot and damages so not to spend too much money. And you might want to winterize the fresh black and grey water tanks so they don't freeze. Great video

That short wheel-base and rear overhang is probably what makes it kinda squirrely.

I live in California (yes, STILL!) and I'm about ready to sell and buy one of these for $200,000. And I'll still get a better deal than from the California real estate market.

There’s a huge RV junkyard in East Bernstadt Kentucky. Very helpful and can ship that door. The walls and roof are common lightweight wood

The leak is in the same place almost every single ruined camper leaks at, around the sky-light vent on the top! Some campers do leak around the windows, as well.... Both of these could have been prevented by removing the skylight immediately, and good awnings over the windows made so that water can never touch the window seal. This same issue also is found in mobile homes, almost as if the manufacturers of campers and mobile homes knew this, and was planning for them to need to be replaced quickly enough to keep them in business. It was preventable.

You ever just buy an RV for $1000? Great catch. I absolutely love this RV space, I used to spend a thousand on eating and game systems in the summer time- this is a way better investment! And shit, just maybe it could be livable

Not trying to be negative but once water intrusion happens on these older RV, it can cost a huge fortune to fix. It often don't just affect the roof but seep down into the walls cause unseen damage. I love the Fleetwood Bounders since they are so iconic from Breaking Bad. Good luck.
