@@BaldadonisMike2021 Totally serious. That thing simply just keeps running for him. He told me he has changed the oil every 4000 miles with synthetic since he purchased it. It is starting to get some rust in the lower body, but we live in an area of the U.S. that uses a lot of winter salt.

I’m honestly surprised you said it was ugly the 5th Gen Toyota Camry has a massive amount of aftermarket support, you can upgrade the headlights to halo edition headlights. (Knocks off 10 years when it comes to looks!)These are very popular in other countries when it comes to souping them up. my parents bought one of these back in 2001 When they came out when I was a kid and I really liked the look of the vehicle i’ve owned two of them and I’m on my third one. When it comes to reliability definitely a great buy!

I have a 2005 Camry LE with 300,000 kms. This 5th gen camry was the last solidly built Camry. The car is wide and long with plenty of space, gets great mpg on road and highway and the switch gear knobs and controls are as solid as they come. The 5 speed auto tranny is smooth as butter too. Toronto, Canada. FYI : the oil burning issue was from the 2007-11 models only due to small piston rings.

I purchased a 2005 Camry LE in early 2019. I used it for LYFT as I didn't want to continue using my 2015 RAV4 which was purchased new and used in that capacity for 5 months . My Camry is an LE that had 226,000 miles on it and included leather seats in Salsa Red Pearl and beige interior. I stopped driving LYFT in march of 2020 when Covid hit. I subsequently put those birdseye maple inserts in the doors,,climate control and part of the gear shift. I have had replaced, the struts, brakes ,radiator starter,,alternator ,tires, speed sensor, oil pump points, plugs, valve cover gasket, rear stabilzer bushings and flex pipe.The dealer replaced the water pump under the 100 day warranty and charged me for labor for an O ring.Was I leery of buying a car with that many miles(now 256,000)? Yes but overall I love this car. it rides like new and I enjoy driving it more than the RAV4.

My 1998 Toyota Camry head 350,000 mi on it until a deer took it out. Purchased a 2001 Toyota Camry with 175000 miles on it and a perfect Carfax service record done at the same Toyota dealer every time. I love the dash on the car that does not have seems and is soft. Ergonomics fit me perfectly and it gives a better ride than my mother's 2016 Toyota. Everything about my Toyota is smooth, soft, rounded, quiet and has a good flow to it with no sharp edges and hard plastic. I hate hard plastic rattly dashes and consoles.

@@BaldadonisMike2021 the car was accidentally put into reverse while going 65 miles an hour and it probably had around 200,000 mi on it at the time!!!! That should have ripped drivetrain parts to pieces!!! Never had a problem out of the transmission but that should have destroyed it. I have been a mechanic most of my life and I would not believe that story if somebody told it to me. It still does not make sense to me that that was physically possible. I did have the number one rod go to knocking and Toyota said that was a problem that happened occasionally and they could not figure out why. I had somebody roll a set of bearings in because the crankshaft was not hurt and for $450 continued riding.

Mine has zero issues. Just bought tye exact car in your video. A 2.4 2002 camry XLE Japan made with only 85,000 Miles! Its in awesome condition, and clean as heck. Doesn't burn any oil, and was well maintained by an old man. I'm basically the second owner (2nd guy had it for 3 months before he got bored of it). I just have been reading lots about this head bolt issue, and now I'm paranoid that my car won't last like I want it to!
@jordandudgeon346
@jordandudgeon346 Жыл бұрын
Apparently Toyota put steel head bolts into an aluminum block on these in 2002, making them susceptible to the threads stripping, as the two metals expand and contract at different speeds. If this happens the engine leaks coolant, and mimicks a blown head gasket. Expensive as hell to fix. Hopefully it doesn't happen to mine. (Most say that if you never overheat the engine, you're okay. But if you do overheat it, then watch out)...

Many people are just worshiping Toyota vehicles. The truth is any vehicle with 200k miles bought second hand may die at any minute. You do not know the history of them. A 200k vehicle without proper transmission maintenance may die any minute. My neighbor's 2003 4runner with 250k miles died sundenly. Whereas, He used it for towing days before. I bought my 2002 Camry in 2012. It had 77k miles, and it has 156k now. I will not nuy anything with more than 80k miles. You can still save a car with 80k miles when you take care of it after the new ownership. I also bought 06 Fusion at 80k miles in 2015. It has 114k miles now. I changed transmission fluid twice for both of the vehicles.
