I love this SUV's they are made to last. I just purchased my tahoe #3. Let me tell you they are easy to work on. They will run to 500kkk miles if you take care of them. The heater problem is blend door actuator it costs $30 dollars on Amazon. Knock sensors are easy to do another 45 dollars at amazon. Don't blame the vehicle. Blame the previous owner who had it and did a number on it.

Not a certified mechanic but own a 2000 GMC Yukon and do my own work mostly. Not a lemon. your List of problems are par for the course with these vehicles. If this is an active fuel management engine bad news but have it converted back to standard. If new to you go slow and prioritize repairs and contracting work get second and third opinions. Start with engine maintenance Coolant flush with refill with fresh antifreeze, Steering wheel fluid change, brake fluid change, rear diff fluid change, oil change and keep the 3,000-mile interval with likely carbon build up finally perform regular transmission fluid change if still running well. Check shocks, engine and transmission suspension support. Don't do it all at once but one fix every couple of months or so. O two sensors be aware when they go out its not usually the oxygen sensor it the Catalytic converter but occasionally repeat flush with Cataclean or some say Acetone, but I use Cataclean works for me. If the heat goes out most of the time, it's the control panel like yours or the blend door failing. Keep up regular repairs, about $1ooo-2000 per year it will last a long time. See Silverado, Yukon, Sierra all made similarly and other channels detail other issues that come up like the Tahoe. Nice video

Even after the mechanics declared it dead, I've kept it going. Most of the repairs can be done in garage by a regular guy, saving thousands of $$$!

6500 for a 2005 gmt800 tahoe?! how many miles?? We bought our 2002 Gmt800 escalade AWD 6.0 for 3500 and its been a beast after some normal wear n tear maintenance. usual spark plug, wires, timing belt, and radiator and new battery. And routine oil changes. It depends on who you buy these trucks from as well. We bought ours from a retired aerospace engineer and lived in the backcountry.

These repairs estimates are WAY high man. I know I’m late to you getting this but there is no way the dash being pulled + parts is 5000. A typical shop MIGHT charge 1000.

There are no more cheap shops in the Denver metro area. My wife's Ford Edge needed a new water pump. That bill was $4800 for a water pump! Mechanic shortage is real!

I agree ! but due to the new cars not selling well these days because of excessive high purchase price , that results in mechanic shops being booked up and often is a 2 week wait just to get a shop to look at it , they now take advantage of customers These Tahoes are great trucks that will last many decades if take good care of them

Did you say how many miles were on it? Thinking about buying a 2005 with 136k on it.

Mine has 168K on it. The last owners beat it up and did no maintenance on it!
