Today I bought a cheap Honda Civic on Ebay that's faster than my Lamborghini. Yes, you read that right. This is the first part of a quarter mile racer build-off with Chris from B Is For Build. We have 4 days to build our cars and race on the 5th. Except I've already missed 2 days. Oh crap.

Bought a stock one of these, brand new in 1999. Had a 1987 CRX-Si also purchased new in. I had no idea these cars would become as popular as they have for street racing. Back in the day they were just fun, reliable little cars that were inexpensive to purchase and cheap to own. Who knew they could be equipped to outrun supercars?

All that needs is a short shifter, fuses for the wires, tracking, drag tyres, and service, and it's good to go. Oh and it does have the power, you just have to rev it to redline. It is a Honda. Don't mess this up, you've got such a good car

I had a 2000 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5 speed manual with the D16Y8. It was a great little car and kept me safe when I rolled it 2.5 times off a bank and landed upside down. Crawled out of the passenger side window and had one small scratch on my wrist and some whiplash. Honda's are well built, even the late 90's-early 2000's ones that feel like go carts that are made out of tin! The hatchbacks are even better cause they fit more stuff! I was looking to buy a civic hatchback recently but found a great deal on a Toyota Matrix XRS that I couldn't pass up cause it is a 4 door hatchback and has the 2ZZ engine (with VVTL-I, the L is for LIFT - similar to vtec)

Hope he was like 1/10 throttle cause my fully built 6262 LSV on low boost pushes 350hp and blows the tires of up to 120mph. Seem kinda slow. It's ready. Turn it up

I had a 90 Honda CRX hf. It was the lowest horsepower you could get but the car was also 300lbs lighter than the SI. 1800 lbs. I did an LS motor swap (Honda LS). B18B1 from an Integra. This car you found has every piece on it I had in my shopping list. Unfortunately it was totalled. A lady blew an intersection and t-boned me. For the time I had it I drove it everywhere as hard as I could. It may only have made 200 hp, but it was so light it made it feel like a 200 hp go-kart. Some day I will build another CRX. I love how simple the Honda motors were back in the 90's.

I’ve got a 94 Honda Civic Si hatchback. The driver side door handle only opens from inside. The sunroof doesn’t work. It’s AC deleted. There’s no radio. The hood won’t stay up unless propped with a broomstick. Sometimes only one headlight comes on. Sometimes the speedometer stops working. The instrument cluster lights don’t work. Sometimes if you get past 7k RPM it’ll drop all power and the check engine light comes on, which is fixed by turning the engine off and back on. The shifter has as much play in each gear as it does in neutral. The ECU is bolted in behind the cup holder. And I love my car.

12:33 why did you do the same thing like takumi from initial d in second stage? Rev it at redline, ask the engine builder what's the redline is at, then test it again, when you shift you are losing power and then when you accelerate it's starting to build up some but when you shift again right when boost build-up almost finished, you car looks like it's about to stall and loses power. And also for modification you should make a harness cage and put harnesses in the car
