What an amazing find & congrats on getting your camera. I learned on an F3P then given this F4E & loved it since. it's a millstone in camera history, be proud to use it. It's design is a work of art, that red line, is very Ferrari as by its designer. Its sidekick, the F801 (N8008) was the camera to pave the way for the look the F5, F6 & onwards but this satisfied those old-timers like my gramps coming from the F2, F3 days. The refused to use a pro camera w/ berried menus . They demanded dials & buttons. They weren't ready for the look of the F801, what the F4 was supposed to look like. F4 is the AF body that changed the industry, AF finally accepted in the pro journalist & action sports field. An award winner as well. An F4 w/ a new 20-35mm f2.8 special edition went aboard the space shuttle. You will find you can do just about anything you need in film. only thing really missing I love it i-TTL & CLS of a F6 but still. You have a desired edition now in its compact form with battery grip MB-20. Pair it w/ an MF-23 back & it can be the best F4 you can have w/ nearly all the extras in an F5 & its MF-28 back.

Congrats Ben, awesome result great condition camera enjoy it mate. I got an F4 a couple of months back had a quick look at it seems all ok. To be honest sounds crazy but I sat it on shelf I've been too scared to try it in case it's a door stop, literally just loaded a roll in today can't wait to try it and see the results. WOW!! the same thing happened to me a few years ago. I bought mine on ebay on a bid, the seller said it had a lot of battery corrosion inside the the battery compartment, he explained that it has not been used for years and said there might be lots of other problems I could run into. I took a big risk and placed a bid of £50 UK pounds and won.. when I received it I cleaned out the corrosion and hay pristo everything was in work order..Any I hope you enjoy your f4 as it's a great camera..a little big but hay.. great bargain..

Hi Ben, are you going to do a follow up taking some photos, and sharing how the photos came out? If you do, please include how the depth of field button works. I just received a F4s, and will be taking a few first shots tomorrow. My depth of field preview button works but seems a bit slow to react. Just curious how other F4s are. THanks for sharing. Great find on this work horse of a shooter.

Wait.. so did it work in the end? I just got one in a similar issue. It powers on now but the motor winder just keeeeeps spinning and random bugs happening. Any ideas? :)
