What's going on Ladies and Gents?
A day which has been much anticipated, moving up from my CBT to A2 License. Crazy really, as It seems like only yesterday when I replaced my RS50 with a 125cc at the age of 17. My heart was to stick with Yamaha, more specifically the MT series - therefore I've purchased the Yamaha MT07. Colour Scheme is Night Fluo.
I'll still be riding the 125cc and producing videos as normal, however, in terms of the channel - there are several plans for progression and video(s) which are down to the benefits on the new motorbike! More details to come soon...
If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more, feel free to support me by leaving a like and subscribe to my channel to stay tuned for future videos!

can you record your A2 lessons and test? I'm planning on progressing to A2 as well and I just want to get an idea of what I need for the test. plus the MT07 is it restricted, if so how much does it cost with the exhaust.

I'll see what I can do for sure! It's down to the test centre and may be some legalities on it.. Yes, it's A2 compliant with a throttle restrictor. Full Akrapovic is £600+ or so, but much cheaper alternatives about for £200+.

Nice video and I'm doing my CBT very soon and I was wondering if you or anyone else who sees this would have some tips for a beginner rider just for on the road in general and/or things you maybe learned quite early on after getting on the road. Thanks a lot and keep up the videos.

Thanks for the comment! Hm, everything all gradually ties together with experience and time. Riding a motorcycle and your skill will come over miles to come and time spent on the road, but it's always worthwhile reading up and becoming familiar as to 'what's what' and a few riding tips/tricks. In addition to this, I'd recommend reading up on your highway code and theory as this will help when it using the roads and such. Any advice from me you ask? Take it easy, always stay alert and everything else will come with experience.

Finding your your tube ideas very informative - I’m considering doing my CBT next month - aim being spending year on a cbf125 - then would like to complete my A2 licence would like to aim for the MT07 - LOOKS LIKE NICE BIKE 😀. Can not believe been driving car since 17 and I’m now nearly 40. And have a over whelming need to get motor bike which has partly been brought on by the fact that at my new work place there is not much parking, motor bike would completely solve this issue
@EvolutionMotovlogs

Thanks Kevin, glad to hear it and I appreciate the support. Sounds like a great plan, get that CBT Booked! I'd always recommend gaining some road experience on two wheels for both a road and practical sense, you'll learn to shift gears, clutch, corner and such. The 125's are so light, nimble and forgiving that they're very confidence inspiring. Once you're ready, whether that be within a matter of weeks or years - you can then book your next license! :) Honestly, there really is no better experience, the freedom and enjoyment of riding a motorcycle. is so rewarding. You'll get hooked, there are so many variations of riding styles and engines out there too. Nonetheless, certainly ALOT of fun to be had with the A2 criteria.

Cheers but I completed a pre CBT day today well it was four hours on geared 125 my CBT is tomorrow - struggled a little on the figure eight with first gear and clutch control. Said I was having difficulty finding he then adjusted jumped on bike to show making it look really easy. I then jumped on find clutch further away as he altered so managed to adjust myself to that and. Omelette the figure eight he then kept telling me to look at him he jumped in to my path at side I just casually moved round him while tapping brake I also managed not to put foot down

EvolutionMotovlogs Yh I have actually, changed the exhaust for a Black Widow one, cheap and cheerful exhuast unless you want to spend big bucks on an akra system. Also put a tail tidy on, makes the bike look 10x better haha. And also I added some sliders just to keep the bike safe to a certain extent.

You doing your training with pheonix? (located behind lagunas). I did my training with them, 70 mile round trip for 3 days from london and back. Failed my mod 2 twice because of that bloody bowaters roundabout in Gillingham by the tescos. Make sure you get the hang of it as on all 3 of my mod 2's the examiner took me round it heading back to test centre and I can honestly say, that roundabout is a mind fuck haha

Hey man loving your content and to see that I can relate to you makes it even better. I'm getting my A2 license but I'm not sure what slhould I do... Sticking with my MT 125 till I'm 20 so I can get the A license and pick up an R6 or buy a MT 07 for just 2 years? Is it really worth it getting a restricted bike? how about the power? Is it so different to the 125 that is worth the deal for just 2 years? Hopping you could help me.
@EvolutionMotovlogs
@EvolutionMotovlogs 7 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for the support! You'll be A2 restricted until 2 years after passing our 24 years of age (whichever is sooner). Go for the MT07 in the meantime for sure. Then step up to the R6 in the future, a few years is a long time and you will not regret moving up from the 125cc. The MT07 is on a WHOLE NEW LEVEL in comparison to the MT125. Resitrcted or not, it's just on the throttle.
@Miguelinho_7
@Miguelinho_7 7 жыл бұрын
EvolutionMotovlogs I understand but here in Portugal you can take the definitive license after 2 year of having the A2... that's why I'm not sure it is worth spending 7000€ on a new bike when I can wait those 2 year and earn some money for my R6. I think I'll just keep my 125 and my car and suffer for 2 years ahaha

I've not passed my test as of yet so I've not been out on her properly. I've absolutely loved the MT125 so the MT07 was an easy choice. If you want more power and such, go for it! I'd definitely consider doing your A2 as you'll have a range of bikes to choice from and will gain motorway privileges and such.

Still unsure on what to upgrade to but I was just wondering (apologies if I didn't catch it in the video), but is the A2 restriction kit a cost free option? Look forward to seeing some videos with the 07, and good luck with your test!
@EvolutionMotovlogs
@EvolutionMotovlogs 7 жыл бұрын
Likewise, in a very similar position! There are two different types of restrictors which can be applied for the A2 License, either electronic (ECU Map/settings) or throttle (restricts throttle movement). The MT07 uses a throttle stop, restricts the throttle twist. Very easy to fit and relatively cheap. You can get this fitted by a garage and they will provide a certificate and such. If you purchase the motorbike new from a garage, I presume this would be a free optional choice. Thank you! Not long to go now..

I might sound like an idiot but what's the minimum cc you need to ride during your A2 test? And if it's under a certain cc for example 400cc does that mean I can only ride 400cc and below bikes? Or can you ride a bigger bike?

Of course I'll reply! It's NOT illegal - copied from Google "In short, there is no legal requirement to have mirrors on a motorcycle. So you are not breaking the law if you have one mirror or two or none at all. However, as a motorcyclist you need to be fully aware of traffic around you at all times so it is highly advisable to have two mirrors."

I definitely will do in the future :). Welcome to come down to the Hastings Mayday run - it's a public meet, not my own.

A few metal shavings ... pretty much normal'. Er, no! If there are metal shavings in your oil, there is something VERY wrong.
@EvolutionMotovlogs

The only reason I say this... I did an oil change on my MT-125; had minor shavings - monitored things and upon the next change it was crystal clear. Perhaps I mis-understood and may well be incorrect; these videos are 'best effort' - I'm no pro.

Yes but no. Depends how you look at it, independence at 16 was worth the lack of power.
