I too, wanted a 10mm carbine - for those things that go bump in the night, but I went a little different route. I stumbled over a company called Mech Tech Systems (I think in a Hickok45 video), that makes 'Carbine Conversion Units (CCU)' that converts common pistols into carbines. I ordered up a 10mm model, scored a used Glock lower from Gunbroker, and put it all together! I added a light, a green laser, and an inexpensive red-dot sight to it. It's a fun little piece to shoot, accurate, and compliments my 10mm 1911!

Tollivers should give you a dedicated parking spot. 😉 That said, 10mm is an interesting cartridge. One of my favorites (for "coyotes in the yard") is a Remington 14 1/2 in 44-40. An oldie, but good for "200 grains of pain relief".

And if you have to it will run the 10 round G29 mags. It will need a break-in period....One of my "get to the house" guns. Cheers!

Nice brother! Glad you got a 10mm rifle! I bought a chassis for my Glock 20 from Meta Tactical that turns it into a bullpup rifle. Pretty neat actually and happy I finally sighted it in a couple of weeks ago. 😃 Hope you love your new firearm! Can't wait for the follow up deer hunting vid. 🙂🤘 I also don't want to throw shade towards Remington in particular but I'm kind of bummed that they're only giving you velocities in the 1100 range instead of something like the 1200 to 1250. I noticed only a handful of ammo makers will actually make ammo that's "10mm velocities". Either way, I know you'll be able to take a deer out no problem with that 16" barrel. Cheers and love from Texas. 🍻

If you want the gun just buy it! I procrastinated for a year or two on a beautiful original Weatherby Mk5 Deluxe .300Weatherby, complete with the original Weatherby scope with the turrets inline on top. When I finally went in to buy it someone had beat me to it. It was $1000 in 1990, and it would be worth a lot more now, being in immaculate condition. I’m still kicking myself! 😭 That’s a neat gun you’ve got there. I have done 9/16 threads to avoid stepping the muzzle too much, sometimes larger, but was also making the suppressors. The 10mm should be ideal for deer at bush hunting ranges. It’s got plenty of energy. 👍🏻

10mm with 200 grain bullets at 1100 fps is actually a bit on the light side. The original setup for 10mm was 200 to 220 grain bullets at 1200 to 1250 fps. It's still what you look for when getting "full power" loads. Having said all that, you should have a very good "deer machine" within 150 yards. Alaskans are turning (have already turned?) to "full power" 10mm with hard cast or fmj as "good bear medicine." Yes, there are more powerful revolvers that have traditionally been used for bear defense, however, it seems that those revolvers are only good for one or two shots simply due to recoil - whereas the 10mm is much more controllable, highly penetrative (good thing for bears), and in practiced hands capable of six or more shots on the bear, (and yes, there are reports of such use and results). If the 10 is good for bears, it ought to be good for pretty much anything else you'd like. 👍

Most companies like to water down the 10mm. I'm thinking they want to keep the 40s&w and the 45acp great?
@kirkboswell25752 ай бұрын
@luketilley9137 - I'm not sure ifxxxx it's a desire to keep the 40 and the 45 alive. The 40 came into existence because S&W was able to meet the FBI parameters in their '59 frame. No need to develop a "large frame" auto. (BIG advantage). The 45 has taken on a life of its own. Every time that the 45 has been questioned, it has consistently proved its worth. That's why it's STILL authorized for the Special forces people (if they want it, and most do). The "watered down" 10mm loadings is, (I think), because the FBI was looking for a "10mm lite" loading after they adopted the 10mm. It's the whole reason for the existence of the 40 (i.e. a search for a 10 lite). It really becomes a "null" factor in the long run. The FBI adoption saved the 10 from joining the "obsolete" group (very short though that adoption was). The FBI search for a "light" loading leads to the FBI parameters that EVERYONE now uses. It is really kind of understandable why so many "10 lite" loads are in the market. It takes time to develop loads. The search for a "10 lite" load has carried over into the commercial market. For me, it's no big deal. Just look for packages of ammo that show 1200 or more, and I then know I'm getting full power loads.

HiPoint carbines have some pretty decent adjustable sights and it is funny that some of the owners put optics on the carbines that cost more than the carbine, when the guns are good to go with the iron sights. It is interesting and funny how some people go whole hog wild on accessorizing their HiPoint pistols and carbines and show them on facebook groups for HiPoint.

I recently purchased two of these rifles identical to the one that you have. A quick search of the interweb will reveal many others that have these rifles and have had issues with them. I for one love mine, but they do require some adjustments to suit your use. I live in Alaska and wanted a compact rifle for bear protection for when I fly into the bush or while fishing in bear country. So I was looking at using a hard cast heavy bullet. Those cartridges that had lead bullets with no copper plating or coating frequently failed to feed (FTF). Even the premium brands had problems. I tried increasing buffer spring pressure by turning in the buffer tube one full turn. I think that helped, but did not solve the problem. I also polished the feed ramp. It is recommended that the magazine should be fully seated before cycling the action to feed a round. That does seem to work. I now use only ammo with copper plated bullets. And after several hundred rounds thru each gun I no longer have FTF issues. I have never had Fail to Extract (FTE) issues with either rifle. I have settled on Fiocchi 180 gr ammo for target shooting and Federal Fusion 200 gr ammo for hunting. Both ammo types shoot about 250fps faster than advertised thru my chronograph. Best of luck!

Looking to see if my local gun store will be clearing them out later this fall. 10mm firearms are not a big seller in Canada , mainly due to 10mm ammo prices averaging $1 to $1.30 plus tax per round. 9mm firearms tend to fly off the shelves. 10mm is a great pistol or carbine round and will certainly work as a little 100 yd or so deer gun. I've got a TNW ASR in 9mm. I've had it for several years with no issues. TNW makes a great little PCP. They've been making them for many years and they work well and shoot accurately. Mine doesn't accept the drum mags but will work with any decent stick mag. The drums when inserted hit the ejector so it won't seat properly. They sell a "Match trigger" on their site thats very inexpensive and super easy to put in. Greatly improves the trigger pull weight but isnt what you would think of as a match weight trigger. Mine will shoot anything but it shoots 147gr bullets best. 25yd groups with 147gr have all bullets touching while most everything else is within an inch.

Ive got a tnw carbine myself I've had for about 3 years now. I'm wanting to love it because I love the concept of it and the weight of it. But unfortunately being a reloader , both the 460 and the 10mm don't like hot rounds. I've have numerous times with both calibers the cases rip in half leaving the top half lodged in the chamber and me having to pry them out. The other thing is the the accuracy. I know its not a moa gun but if I could get a 2 inch group consistently I'd happy. Instead I get about a 5-8 " group from 50 yds. I was hoping to get it to shoot good to use it for a long distance ( longer than my pistols but still under 100yds) carbine to use for hogs and deer. Unfortunately I can't do anything with it out past 30- 35 yds which is my max with my 10mm and 460 rowland pistols. Also you'll have the problem to I'm sure with the barrel nut slowly backing off while shooting. Fortunately theres a hexhead lock screw towards the end of the rail ,above the barrel nut you can tighten down to help prevent that. Hope you have better luck with yours

I had the same thing happen to me a few years back. My local pawn shop had a really nice older model stainless Mini 14 in with a stainless scope on it. I always wanted a stainless Mini, and they had it listed for $350.00.....yea I should have pulled the trigger on that immediately because when I went back a couple days later, it was gone. Never saw another one again.

I bought a stripped lower receiver years ago from Them. I believe its tech net works. I thought they made toys or something . at least when i looked them up when i got the receiver. I had no idea who they were and to be honest, i figured they went out of business. I haven't seen anything from them until now.

I have a couple of those. You'll probably have to adjust the buffer tube and spring. I had to, it runs flawlessly now.

High point 10mm carbines are supposed to be great budget options. Cool gun though. Never seen that Remington 10mm ammo. I usually buy Underwood 10mm to feed my 1911s.
