I finally did it, I bought my dream car an AM General Hummer H1! Not only did I buy it, but in this video I take it off road, ford through flooded roads, and drive over cars and crush them. After years of hard work, dedication and passion, I was able to save up enough to buy a car, well technically a truck, that I have wanted since I was a kid. This video is super special to me and I hope you enjoy it! Also, there is a kinda-sorta ChrisFix face reveal in this video...

This video is incredibly special because it goes to show you, if you are really passionate about something and work hard, you can achieve your goals! I always knew I would get an AM General Hummer H1 one day, but I never expected it to be this beast and this soon! Thank you guys for all the support, every single one of you. You guys are who make this possible. I do my best to make videos that help you, but you guys coming back to each video and watching them the entire way through, is what makes my channel the #1 Automotive DIY channel in the world! THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! Hey Chris! I just wanted to say that even though I don't have a car yet, not even a used one, I'm still a massive fan of your videos! Your passion for automobiles and your expertise in fixing and upgrading them is truly inspiring. Every tutorial and upgrade you share gets me even more excited about the prospect of owning my own car someday, even if it's a used one. Keep doing what you do best, Chris! You're my inspiration. Congratulations on your Dream Car, the Hummer, and your 3rd anniversary with it!

Someone did make a good point in the comments.. Chris is the one KZfaqr that didn't have his dream car as a Lamborginai or a Ferrari or a Porsche, instead his Dream Car was a Hummer H1 and it's been since he was a kid, he has photos of him and actual history of him following the H1 to date. That is insanely amazing and we need more genuine and helpful people like this. Chris, you deserve this and WAY more. I hope you have an amazing life, and I'm not leaving anytime soon. I’ve loved hummers since I was a little girl too, and this video reminded me why I love them so much! All I’ve heard growing up was how bad they are on gas, how expensive they are to repair, etc. This is a reminder that it’s okay to love what you love and chase after it if you want it. I’m so happy for you Chris!! You Hummer is AWESOME.

15 mpg is really impressive given the circumstances of the vehicle. 8 tons of weight being pushed that far off a gallon of anything sounds pretty efficient to me. The acceleration / deceleration is most impressive to me though, getting that into motion that quickly and to stop that quickly is quite a task. Well deserved man, keep being you, keep grinding and especially keep reminding others they don’t need to care what others think about their dreams. Within reason of course, can’t be a career criminal as a dream and expect encouragement 😅

Hey Chris, figured you might be interested in knowing the reason why the center doesn't have any seating (you have that weird (no offense, just never seen that before) optional bench seat in the middle) in a standard military HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) it's the perfect amount of space to fit a medical stretcher through the trunk. so that the people sitting in the back can then tend to the person on a stretcher in the middle. A little story, we were doing desert training in Nevada for deployment and some new recruits were driving HMMWV's for the first time. Well, they have plenty of torque. Had a youngster drive about 10 miles on the road. With the parking brake on!... As soon as we stopped the damn thing caught on FIRE. We got the fire put out quick. No real damage to the vehicle. The poor guy didn't hear the end of it for the rest of our field training. Good times.

Like most vehicles with military applications, they are designed to be serviced and worked on, and returned to the battlefield as fast as possible. They also tend to be designed with maximum flexibility in use so one basic vehicle can have probably over 100 different uses by making bolt-on changes to the body. Inevitably this means that some things that would be almost essential in a road vehicle have to be compromised. A lot of the issues with the HMMWV tend to be the rather old fashioned mechanics that they are fitted with from the factory to make them somewhat affordable to build. Most of the Hummers that are on the road have, like this one, been upgraded well beyond what the military got, and had most of the inevitable design faults cured too. Like the Land-Rover, they have plenty of faults that can be somewhat corrected, and there are lots of people who love them. I like the H1/HMMWV a lot, but they are utterly impractical in the UK due to their physical size and thirst so it's very unlikely I'll ever own one. I have to say, though, I've driven HMMWVs and they're a hell of a lot more comfortable than military spec Landies...

@@ollie620 If his parents is fine with it, what is the big deal? I know plenty of people who have a bit older parents, and they take care of them in the home- so theres no reason to move out. Neither you or me know his situation, nor his parents. - So making assumptions that he "needs" to move out, is a bit of a stretch. Maybe it is common where you live to move out early, but where I'm from theres not really a point, unless you are insanely wealthy and don't need to take up a loan.
