Good there is no sunroof either as they can leak badly as the drains break. Pull the dipstick and check to see if there is any pressure or whistling through the pcv system as the diaphragm can split on the oil canister and give these symptoms. A new diaphragm is £18 so not bad. Known a few traded in because of misdiagnosis with this.

Nice the Volvo James, used to have a 740 saloon and 760 GLE Estate at work some years ago...the GLE was a fantastic 'mile muncher' as it was a 2.3 Turbo....It certainly changed my opinion of them, servicing wasn't cheap but the didn't go wrong either! These drive really well! Test drove a couple of manual examples years ago and was really tempted. In the manual, there's no space for a foot rest next to the clutch so the autos are probably more comfortable cruisers. I remember the glove box being silly small - not exactly a deal breaker though.

Following on from my comment on James' previous video, in my experience the Swedes and Germans seem to have well proven themselves in producing comfortable, robust quality vehicles that seem to meet the requirements of most consumers in one way or another, be it longevity/build quality, performance, Kudos, reliability, economy, appearance, resale value (which often means a comparatively high purchase price, plus, occasionally, as illustrated with the Porsche, rather extortionate parts prices, but....), a decent sized boot (now styled in accordance with the lines of the rest of the car whilst retaining optimum practicability, rather than the square lines I remember as a child), and, in this case, the wolf in sheeps that could surprise a "performance" car for those whose ego needs a boost having had to resort to catering for expanding family requirements/towing a caravan etc....... As an hgv driver, I was privileged enough to predominantly drive Volvo, and as an owner driver I exclusively ran Volvo. The two that I had both had 1 million plus kms on the clock when I bought them, neither missed a beat, and when I parted with the second, it was 14 years old and had passed 2 million kms without having a spanner laid on the engine beyond regular servicing other than to replace exhaust manifold gaskets, compressor, air dryer, rocker cover gaskets, tacho, a few hoses, rubber airbags, blah yada, all thing that perish eventually on any vehicle....... Coincidentally, it had alloy wheels from new, and at one point I had problems with wheel studs shearing on the front axle. It turned out to be warped wheels, and the issue was solved by swapping the fronts for the insides on the rear/drive axle. Unfortunately, despite looking great, alloy wheels on an hgv retain heat more and for a lot longer than steel wheels, and are more susceptible to warping, plus the front axle of any vehicle takes more abuse under braking than the rear(s). Ever wondered why the front wheels look blacker than the rears, especially with disc brakes..... I bought an F reg 344 (I think. 4 door booted)) car in 99 (100,000+ miles) that was perfect, other than needing a new distributor cap that I fitted myself and a service. I gave it to my mum at the end of 2000 when the article aka "father" cleared off leaving her carless, and it continued faultlessly for another 4 years. Right decision made re selling it. Despite the comprehensive service history, solidity etc, it's a car for an enthusiast, dog owner, affluent occasional caravan tower, blah yada, but not a retail car to generate huge profit. Shame, being as it looks essentially immaculate for a 15 year old motor, but business is business..... Thanks for another great video 😁👍

This spring we pulled out of long term storage my late father in laws Volvo S70 T5 1998 sport gearbox, he bought it 36k cash in an envelope from a volvo dealership he loved that car dry miles only we took it to a volvo specialist for service cambelt mot and they said they have never seen such a well cared for car immaculate we probably spent more on this repair than what it's worth I think we could have sold it many times over to the mechanics and customers admiring it The stories of the old man winding it up on the motorway and the police cars of the day couldn't catch him and they had to radio ahead for support and they they couldn't stop it till he pulled over in the petrol station and swapped drivers and my frail old mother in law in the drivers seat. Coppers just wagged there finger and embarrassing they couldn't catch an old dear at the wheel We still laugh about it today old man had so many belly laughs about this
