it'll seat a lot easier using a ratchet strap (or rope/stick) around the tire. Don't add too much air once it seats without removing the strap.

There are 2 ways to solve the problem with putting air into a tire that has lost its bead. Number one is take the valve core out this will allow more air volume to enter the tire faster. Number 2 is you could try a ratchet strap around the circumference of the tire and that will prevent the tire from malforming
@KillerNetDog

Yeah I always just take the valve core out to seat a tire bead.

The other 2 ways for more extreme bead stretching when/if the ratchet strap/stem removal fails. 1. starter fluid method (not a fan and dangerous; only used when desperate, like stuck in woods). 2. modified portable air tank that has a VERY large release valve; cheap and easy for most part. Dump entire contents of tank in one large woosh. Similar to the stem removal but more extreme. Trailer tires and tractor tires always being the pain in ass ones.

I worked in a tire shop for 2 years. The ratchet belt is the way to go! If you don’t have one use a belt or a rope. All work just fine. You also might think about getting a nozzle that clips on instead of holding. That way you have use of both hands.

Two tire seating ideas - remove the valve core and then hit it with your air - the issue is volume not pressure. The second is to remove the valve stem - take your can of starting fluid with a "straw" and give it two quick squirts into the tire - hit it with a lighter - it will go "frump" (small explosion) with enough force to seat the tire but not hurt anything. The ideas others gave to use a ratchet strap works a lot of the time.

I wish my FRONT tires had the valve stem guards on them. My rear tires do, BUT, they did not do me any good either. Had the SAME THING happen to me with my REAR tire. Stick broke off the valve when I was in the FAR BACK of my farm and tried to get as close to a road as I could. Did not get far! Bead broke and all my tire fluid blew out all over the ground and the tire almost came off of the rim! Got it fixed, but what an ordeal! Also, a couple of tips for you. There is a "cable tool" that is used for pulling new valve stems into place making it much easier! And the tire service that came out to my farm used something he called "tire soap" to seat the bead onto the rim. Never seen it before. It looks like lard, but he hand packed that "soap" on both sides of the tire and wheel and then put the air to it and it popped right onto the bead!!!! And there was a hell of a gap between tire and riim! Live and learn! Oh! And after several flat front tires due to Honeylocust thorns I went and had my front tires FOAM FILLED. No more flats.....on the fronts any way!

Back in 1968 at the filling station we had a device to squeeze the tire all the way around. It worked in the same manner as the ratchet strap technique. It was an inner tube like device that was only about one inch in diameter(like a bicycle tube) and long enough to go around the whole circumference of the tire. (kinda like those thin balloons they use to make animals at kids parties.) It had a fabric material encasing it and a clamping apparatus at the ends. You put the whole thing around the tire and choked it up tight and fastened the clamps. Then you put air pressure in it and it pulled down on the tire real hard all around the whole circumference. The beads were forced out to the seat point. Put a little air in the tire and it would seat pretty easy. It was fast and easy. And I am pretty sure it would clamp down harder than you could do with a ratchet strap. I looked on the internet and couldn't find one. Perhaps you could make one with a bicycle tire, cut and sealed at the ends and glued to the inside of a ratchet strap. Tighten down the ratchet strap and then put air into the bicycle tire.

2 ways to help get the tire to seat back on the rim: 1.) Use ratchet strap around center of tread on tire. Tighten strap until tire is slightly sunk in towards the center of rim. Inflate tire until you hear the bead snap up onto the seat. Release ratchet strap and inflate tire to proper pressure. 2.) Remove needle valve in the valve stem to allow a greater volume of air at a faster rate to force the bead up onto the rim seat. You will hear it pop up onto seat. Stop inflating and reinstall the valve as quickly as possible with air seeping out. Tighten valve stem down and inflate tire to proper pressure. Hope these suggestions help everyone.

That was a very unfortunate accident, and never seen a guard fitted before so good idea, but to me might have given more protection had the guard been fitted 180 degrees to how it is fixed. But that might make getting at the valve more difficult, so you can't win which ever way you do it. Thankfully it was an easy fix without costing a load, just annoying to stopped play.

The first thing you do not do is use sharp edged tools anywhere near the bead of the tyre and the rim seat, damage beads and seat result in continues flat tyres. Taking the valve stem out lets a lot more volume of air in to expands the tyre more quickly to get it seated, I do not use chains or ratchet straps to belly the tyre out, I prefer to use a length of rope twisted up with a stick or such because when the tyre expands chains or ratchet straps can lock up and be impossible to release as for the rope you just unwind the stick or cut the rope, also this is very handy if you are stuck in the bush

I could weld a protective shroud around all of the valve stem and they will still get broke off..😵😀 On my equipment anyways. Building our new Norwood HD36 this weekend, but rain! Wish us luck!

I won't mention the use of strap around the perimeter because many others have repeated that well proven method. What I'm writing about is............. What the heck is that grinding sound when you were free spinning the tire? Wow. That sounded like a horribly worn bearing.

Those R4 tires or bad about not reseating but just put about 10 pounds of air in them go drive around for five minutes and they’re perfectly reseated and not leaking. By the way, I always carry you a cheap ratchet strap that way you can wrap it around the tire squeeze it down and make it seat up.

Kabota needs to extend their valve stem guards. They should stick out past the valve stem for protection.
I Can't Believe Kubota Did This
