Your a man of the land. I inherited my grandfather's farm property hadn't been used in years. I moved in and started transforming it back to what it used to be. The neighbors tried to complain but taught them a lesson. Built my property the way I wanted it. Never back down.

As a Gen.X, we helped all our neighbors during harvest or bailing hay or whatever they needed. We all went to the same church and ate lunch at their house. Everyone got along, and everyone helped each other out. I wish it was like that now. Most have passed away. But I will never forget the fact that we all were like family. I miss the good old days. GOD bless you always Stan 🙏
@garystuart226Ай бұрын
Hi, amen to that as indeed there doesn’t seem to be communities anymore where everyone looked out for each other, such a shame that so many people are so selfish, trying to get as much as they can and god forbid u ask for a helping hand every so often, alas I spent 30+ years repairing boilers and plumbing here in the Uk, I always bent over backwards in helping anyone, but when I needed help after extensive back surgery the only person who came to my aid was my new neighbour , everyone else was too busy , do believe in karma of what goes around comes around , indeed the good manners and respect we all got from our parents also seems to have gone by the wayside , stay safe and well , Gary

I live in rural Ohio and there are still good communities. True... Everyone is super busy these days but we still go the extra mile to help each other out. My new 23 year old neighbor made a point to come introduce himself when he moved in and he frequently asked if I need any help if he sees me out working in the yard. God bless!

in the 1960's our farming ranching community were great neighbors, even miles away. Church, school, co-op feed store , One dude owned a hay bailer, one dude owned a combine, one dude owned a Rhino blade, a sickle mower, a hay rake, the list went on and on.. borrowed and brought back better than you took it, you help,,hauled their hay, they helped haul yours , talked on the party line about schedule, rain, problems solutions to problems, pot luck meals. I was lucky to have known that life... Its still that way in some places.... those that learned that way embrace that way..

Buddy, every time you mention your tiff with your neighbors, it seems to me like you are sharing a story about me and my neighbors in South Dakota! Literally, the same exact stories that i have. Down to the part where you turn to your wife to ask if youve lost your mind, or are these neighbors out to get me! Fortunately, we are blessed and have 2 homes, so we are selling our lake home and moving out to our country home (with land). Gonna build a wall around the entire property, then line it with every greens to close out the world. I use to be a very out going, extroverted individual. But over the last 5 years of our lake home neighbors tearing me down, i have slowly become a reclusive introvert. I dont talk to anyone but my wife and kids. Personally, i believe it comes down to money, and jealousy. Some people (unlike myself) cant find happiness through others success. In fact, i believe they grow to hate you. Me and all my neighbors use to go to dinner weekly. All of which are fairly successful in their own right. But, not as well off as me. Id pick up the check every time. Over time, i felt that started to make them look at me negatively. Im not sure why, but it seems like the more money i dumped into my lake home (which increased all the property values on that block) the more they grew against me. Spent winters clearing all their driveways with my skid and plow, always extended a helping hand free of charge with any and all their projects. In the end, i was sued by them and ended in a court battle. They had the city hall, local police, code enforcement agency, and city attorney trying to destroy me and disrupt my happiness. I beat them thankfully. But it cost me my happiness for 3 solid years. I still cant understand why they all turned on me, but there were times where i questioned myself and if i had done something to deserve this. In the end, i believe they are all just f'd up. Onward and upward! Build that wall, buddy! 👍👊💪
@kenharness3827Ай бұрын
That wall is a real fire hazard. If any little spark or lighting hits near there it'll be up in smoke and a bugger to put out.

My neighbor who own a lawn care and snow plowing business. He gets into trouble with the township for too much junk in his yard. So, he put it in my garage and backyard and then he promises to mow my grass for free and plows my driveway for free. Although, it's hard for me to get him to do favors, like I bought a front door and he was going to pick it up at the local Home Depot. Since, he has a truck and I don't. He's got a skid steer 3 or 4 trucks. Plus, a motor home. The motor home has be stored somewhere, besides his house, because the township would put up a fuss. I don't have a problem with his junk, because I keep to myself. My nickname for him on my phone, is junkyard Mike. He put up a green netting on park fence to block the view of his backyard. He got into trouble for having chicken coop, but now they allow chicken coops. I keep my nose in my yard and not my neighbors yards. Too many busy bodies in your neighborhood.

That really sucks when neighbors want to be jerks for no reason at all. I just don't understand what being a Karen does for your soul. I'm so thankful most of my neighbors are great. My neighbor died from cancer in December. During his 11 months of treatment i don't think there was anyone on the block that didn't pitch in and help. Weather it was taking care of the yard or simply just walking up and asking how he's doing. This is how it should be.

Stan you are a man after my own heart. I had a business in PA and they built houses around us. Our state house rep stopped in one day and said he didn't want to hear any cpmplaints from home owners. One day I had two seperate state agenecies visit me saying they had complaints. After being cleared by both agencies of any wrong doing, I gave the neighbor something to see off his back deck that I knew would upset him but was within my rights. Instead of scrapping old propane tanks we made a wall similar to your brush piles.

Stan neighbors can be A-holes! I lived in my house for 60 years, never had a problem with my neighbors until about 5 years ago. New neighbors moved in along withj their daugther and son-in-law. Well the son-in-law started aguring where the property line is trying to take some of my property. Because I have Cerberal Palsy his excuse was I am disabled and don't know what I am talking about. went through my lawyer and I paid to have the property surveyed still agured the area in question was his property aqnd they got a laywer and he wanted his property survey well when he found out how much a survey was he reniged on having it surveyed. I had to have a dead tree cut down he called the cops that is was his tree, cops show up talked to my tree guy who had the plat map. Cops looked at the neighbor NOPE thats kenny's tree, my buddy doing the tree work for me got three more tree jobs that the cops needed done. Thats karma! I want to put a fence up but being on a fixed income it is hard... God Bless keep doing what you are doing Ken

I couldn't believe the nerve of these idiots. This was in a nice gated community so it's not like they were hurting. I didn't speak to them again except her idiot husband wanted a sprinkler dug up.
