I've stayed in a job I loathe for 23 years because of golden handcuffs. And it's not like I'm raking it in, there's just no other job that would pay me enough to live. I've had my chances to escape, but it was just too easy to stay. It's no wonder that no weekend provides any escape, no vacation is long enough, no raise will make me satisfied, and every year I wonder if I can make it another year. Kids...learn from my mistake. If you go through your day telling yourself that the depth of the hatred for your job is impossible to describe, leave early and find something else while you still have some sanity left.

I blew my voice out today because I was sitting in my car alone screaming out of frustration with my job. I’m well paid but it’s killing me. I live in West Virginia so when you get a good paying job here you tend not to leave. I have two small kids so I just simply cannot quit. I’m stuck.

Good for you for putting your kids first. Too many people today are selfish and would’ve done something else like major in gender studies just because they like it without even giving a thought to whether that would allow them to provide for their children.

I’m a master tech for a car dealership. I make $100,000 a year and am pretty good at what I do. That being said, I freaking hate my job. I love the people around me but hate and absolutely hate customers and the work. I’m doing everything I can to get out but most jobs only want to pay $60k/year despite my experience.

There are so many people in this position right now.... I'm near retirement age, burned out, tired and depressed. I haven't been able to find a good job with great pay since my last job ended (which I did enjoy). Had to move across the country to a lower cost of living city (where most of the jobs pay so little). I'm beyond done at this point, trying to cut all my expenses down, pay off last c.c. debt... to what??

I can't stand my job, we're lower middle class, but I'm still the breadwinner of the family. Ican't find anything else that pays as well that will cover all our bills and rent. We don't spend money on luxuries. I'm talking about covering basic necessities. Our town went from small Town to hoighty toighty suburb that we can't afford. Can't move away and pull my son away his school and friends. I'm miserable and just fucked.

I hate my job but I feel like there isn't anything else for me. My Fiancée and I are in our early 20s and I work in manufacturing. everything I see in my area is either retail or manufacturing and I can't find anything that would pay me a better wage than what I'm getting now. I feel like my body is starting to give out. My joints and back are always sore and they never really feel better. This isn't what I wanted for my life and It's harder and harder to wake up and drag myself to a 12hr night shift. But I can't afford to quit. We make enough to pay the bills but not enough to really save or progress in life. I feel like I'm gonna be stuck here forever and it's driven my depression and feelings of hopelessness through the roof. I just feel lost. I don't even know what I want with life anymore. Any passions that I had feel like a chore now so I don't even enjoy things that I normally would have. I feel like since nothing is bringing me joy then I should just stay here. It's "stable" enough I guess but I'll never progress and I'll never have a life I would have wanted.

Why is it that everyone solution to their problem is to start their own business.. Doing that requires a lot of money, also businesses have multifaceted problems that are not normally on your radar. It's easy to say that they're easy to manage on the outside but once you're inside there's a lot of nonsense to deal with.

Ken's answer was really good and I took notes. I'm a new listener too. I'm in the midst of the get qualified stage. I need to work on getting connected. Unfortunately, the energy of the caller was a bit of a downer. I don't think she's going to do anything differently. Any time someone says "Yeah, uh huh, mmm, right" in the middle of the other person's sentences, you know they're not really listening. But I'm glad she called because I got to hear a great answer!

I work in a car dealership. I need a change because it’s affecting my life and health. I had been the victim of a hit and run back in 2017. I thought it was fully gone pain wise. However, over the years I’ve had this nagging lower back issue that’s exacerbated but the constant climbing in and out of cars daily. I recently went to a chiropractor and he told me about this issue. I’m going to get things back to somewhat normal. What should I do? I have ok money. I finally have insurance.

It’s money, not the jobs. We live in a capitalist, consumer-based society where being alive revolves around money. If you have plenty of it, you have more opportunities to make yourself happy. Without it or the mindset to live your best life without money, you are screwed.

I love how folks think it's so easy to sell real estate and make big money "a few nights a week." You need to hustle your a$$ off while getting eaten alive in fees. Plus, it will take a minute to get any pipeline of deals going. It can be all-consuming. I also don't hear any real fire or hustle in this woman's voice. I don't think she's going to do anything that was discussed

As much as I would love to sell real estate, the fees and commission structures are ridiculous. Realtors spend a lot of years not making anything while their broker makes bank. In my state, a broker has to hold your license too.

She does come off a bit negative, but I have to say I totally know where she's coming from in a way. Sometimes you get so bogged down in a toxic environment that it starts to seep into you and everything you can and can't imagine for your life and you start to think you're truly stuck doing a crap job you do not like at all. She seems to not really be ready to hear Ken's words though, as you said--she's not ready to make the leap of faith yet. She, like I have been, seems so down and desperate for a change and to get out of the toxic job that you try anything--any course or quick(ish) fix to get skills in something to get out. But in doing that you end up jumping into things that either you really don't enjoy either or things that you thought were a quicker fix but ended up not being. I've had people tell me that I need to go into real estate too because it's relatively easy to make good money. Maybe she thought the same and jumped right in without thinking it through and now she realize her heart is telling her she wants to do the online business. Either way, I think Ken is right. She's learning real estate now or has the qualifications now so go with it and use it as a tool to get there you want to go. Maybe she does't love it, but it wouldn't be forever.

The reason I'm speaking this is because when a dude explains this similar thing that his woman is talking about in this video, In my mind its like me basically hearing more from a female's point of view that she believes for herself she can't accomplish anymore than what I believed to think she's already accomplished high school and college/university level education faster smarter and much better than any Black African/American Males who struggled and worked 2 or 3 times dumber, slower, longer to just for him to accomplished the similar things as like any females of any ethnicities just to explain that to simplify this the highest percentage of more in common average most likely lifestyle for Black African/American male when they lack significant proofs of accomplishments in much higher education and already dropped out high school and refuses, ignores and gives up on college/university level education just for masculine/testosterone chosen type lifestyle for his only choice in life of homelessness and or incarceration just so that its gives more of some advantages to the opposite gender of any color and or any ethnicity more of petty unnecessarily undeserved types of powers under from and over the dang masculine/testosterone male citizen role models in civilian life that homelessness and or incarceration is to be believed as men to seen as no other choices and or alternatives to better the males in women's lives as of today in 2021 as a Black African American male myself 100% refusing all things of being judged, critizied, hated, rejected, ignored, labeled and called as opposite female gender with and or against men to this very day . 🤨😠
