In this video, I share my 6th round chess game against GM Shardul Gagare (2460) from the 2023 Qatar Masters Chess Tournament. The game featured an offbeat and highly dynamic line in a variation of the Queen's Gambit Declined and a crazy middlegame sacrifice.

great game again and i love the way you present your games, checking the engine moves afterwards so we get the best impression of your very own thoughts after the game! Question though: What happens in the final position if you block with your queen on d8 instead of repeating the position? I reckon its obvious for many of you, but if the queens were traded it would be great for black, no? and if not queen trade, what would happen?

Interesting - tho I've always been chary about playing ...h6 in the QGD bc always I get in trouble on g6 but you're much better than I am and prolly don't need to worry about that so much. On another note, I was once looking at game between Alekhine and Capablanca in what has I guess become canonical. Of course at that time most of it was a mystery to me, until suddenly I understood Capa was building a fortress on the the queenside, after which the draw with black was an easy game. It was the first time ever I understood a WC game.
