It's not been the journey I wanted, but I have to say it is the journey I am happy to see end. Here's the entire story behind why I will not be getting pregnant. If you have any questions about IVF, please let me know in the comments and I will try to answer them in a follow up video. Also, I just want to thank all of you so much for your continued support. I see every comment and read every message and I always feel SO loved by so many. If you are going through your own fertility journey right now, don't give up. Get yourself the best fertility doctors you can find and continue pressing on for your hopes and dreams. It doesn't always work out the way you might have planned it, but it does always end up working out somehow.

I’m so glad you’re in a good place Erin. People place so much importance on pregnancy. It doesn’t matter how your child comes into this world, what matters is the work, time, and love that comes with being a parent. While pregnancy can be beautiful it pales in comparison to holding your baby and watching them grow. I wish you and your husband joy and happiness on your journey!

" I know that's not a normal reaction " ITS COMPLETELY NORMAL ERIN. any reaction to pregnancy or lack thereof is NORMAL. Society needs to normalize women being ok or at peace with not wanting to be pregnant, whatever the reason is.

Yessss🙌🙌🙌🙌 I had to have a hysterectomy at 25 because of Endometriosis, and for a while I felt exactly how Erin did, I felt a huge weight lifted. Now that I've been in a healthy, loving relationship for 6 years, I'd love to have a baby with him so I've gone into a different phase. But for a while, I felt so relieved

@@AKbaby89How do you deal with knowing you can't have a baby, especially for your partner? Im currently facing a hysterectomy and it saddens me
@AKbaby89

@Tiffany Robinson to be totally honest, it's tough. I would love to be able to have a child with my partner, but the main thing I try to focus on is the fact that I wouldn't have been able to carry a pregnancy to term because of Endometriosis and the damage it caused all my reproductive organs. I was only ever able to get pregnant once, and I wasn't even aware I was pregnant when I miscarried and had to have a D&C because my fallopian tubes were blocked. So, I try to remind myself that even if I had the organs to have children, my body wouldn't have been able to do that anyway. My partner actually doesn't want to have kids with his genes anyway, so if we ever become able to adopt, we definitely would. I'm not sure we will ever be there because of all my medical problems, I'd never bring a child into a situation that isn't 100% healthy, supportive, and the best option for that child. I'd love to be able to adopt someday, there's so many kids in the system it breaks my heart. I wish I had some advice for you, it's a really hard thing to go through and live with, but id say to do whatever is best for you and your health. Sending you love❤️❤️

@@AKbaby89 Yes, I too have endometriosis and the symptoms are becoming unbearable so I know a hysterectomy is looking like the option for me. And a bunch insecurities and questions are running through my mind now. Like wil find someone that'll be ok with not having kids? I know these men exist but I just feel incomplete as a woman
@AKbaby89

@Tiffany Robinson well just so you're aware, a hysterectomy really doesn't impact Endometriosis much. I've had several surgeries since my hysterectomy, it really only stops me from bleeding, but my body still goes through the hormone cycle since I have one ovary left. I thought I'd be pain free after the hysterectomy, but that doesn't seem to be the case very often. ❤️❤️

Seven years later she adopted me and a few years later my brother. Looking back she feels it was the biggest blessing because she was meant to be our mom. Without having to go through that she would have never met us. I feel the same way...No one else was supposed to be my mom.❤ God has a plan and your hearts desire in mind. It will absolutely unfold.

I fully understand the relief of not worrying anymore about getting pregnant & all things attached. It is physically & emotionally exhausting. Owning that so soon is HUGE! If you're a woman you are already paying more insurance costs because you have the possibility to get pregnant. There is absolutely zero reason that that cost can't cover surrogate pregnancies. It might be a chance and it's a choice a lot of women don't make but they sure as heck are being charged for it anyway. I guess non of you have heard of a pink tax. Also, handmaid's tale was a forced situation. There are plenty of women that volunteer to carry other women's babies all of the time. Live in reality people not the fictional dystopias you're watching on television. Consent is a real concept that absolutely applies in this scenario.

One of the best things you said in this video was “you don’t know what you don’t know” and you could absolutely be saving your life by making this choice. I appreciate you being so vulnerable because society is so weird because pregnancy is so glamorized but most people experience the not so glamorous aspects and don’t discuss them! I used to be a surrogacy case manager. It can be an amazingly beautiful process - we had one set of IP's who the mother had recovered from metatastic breast cancer and they had a baby through surrogacy. I don't think any of the IPs came to us because the mother didn't want to carry herself for cosemtic reasons. Most had been through agonizing fertility journeys and had come to us as their last resort for a biological baby. We also had a lot of same sex IP's who wanted biological children but couldn't become pregnant on their own. If you want to chat more, I'm happy to answer any questions you have!

You have been through SO much during the past few years, I have followed all of your journey and I am SO proud of you, it is normal to feel sad because you had a specific picture in your head and hoped that it would come true, but to EVERY problem/issue, there is a solution and I am SO glad to see you come in terms with it and accept it how it is. I kept smiling and laughing at your little funny comments while watching the video! You do what is BEST for you, this is for sure a good thing, I don't personally see it as a sad or bad thing, you will eventually come up with another solution, take your time, you look STUNNING AND BEAUTIFUL as always and enjoy life as you are doing right now, I am sending tons of positive vibes and love to you and Matt and the cute doggie! Love you Erin! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

It's so brave and admirable of you to share your story. And what an example of walking through disappointment! I also appreciate the insight into surrogacy. I had my first baby 3 months ago, and very little of it went as I hoped, so your story is helping me reframe the experience.

I’m glad to hear that you are at peace with the whole situation. You are right that some things happen for a reason and maybe choosing not to pursue getting pregnant is the best choice because like you said so many bad things can come from it. I’m still sorry to hear but luckily nowadays there are other routes to you getting your baby.

Thank you Erin for always being real with us and sharing your story so in depth. The first fertility video I watched of yours, I only related to because I had also suffered a pregnancy loss. Now I’ve found out some stuff and im working with my dr on my own fertility, and watching you share your journey so openly and honestly makes me feel so much less alone, and makes me feel inspired to be a woman on this journey, instead of feeling like it’s the biggest burden ever. Thank you

Thank you for sharing all this. I have been trying to get pregnant for about 2 years and will start my fertility testing journey on my next cycle. I’m very nervous about what news these test will bring but watching your journey through it all has given me a lot of hope and peace that no matter what, there is still joy and happiness and family in the future no matter how that comes to be. I am truly grateful to you and can’t wait to follow the rest of your journey.

Erin, no matter how your child makes it’s way into your arms, they will be SO loved because of how hard you worked to meet them. You will be a great Mom, whether that is through surrogacy, adoption, anything. I recently had my first child and while he is my world and everything I went through was worth it for him, pregnancy and labor were horrible. I was sick all the time, in pain, had a high risk pregnancy, was a human pin cushion (about 30+ blood tests in a month and 2 collapsed veins), and had a preeclamptic attack post labor that was painful and terrifying. If I had the means to have a surrogate carry our 2nd future child, I would consider it. Surrogacy isnt a dirty word and should be talked about more. You have been through a LOT of trauma and if a surrogate will prevent you from experiencing more trauma, it is WORTH IT. Best of luck on your journey and thank you!

I'm so glad that you have such a peace about this Erin. I had back surgery last year and will likely need more in my future and I have had no desire to carry a child (even though I probably could) just due to the risks of increasing problems with my back. I'm 35 and also would like to do surrogacy, but you're right, it's so stigmatized and so foreign to most people, that it's a really hard discussion to have. Thank you for shedding light on this topic in such an easy and non-judgmental way

You are amazing Erin and I wish you the best with whatever choice or decision you make, because it’s about what makes you feel happy, healthy, and safe.
