This concern kept getting worse and worse, when the wife said all the verbal abuse she endured when she was sick I was shaking with anger. How the hell she stayed with the POS is beyond me 😞 poor thing

This is a huge concern. I'm a child of an alcoholic father. I have lost my father and my oldest brother because of alcohol and I probably soon will lose my youngest brother too for same reason. I can really relate to the family's concern. This man will die prematurely by liver cirrhosis, pancreatitis, alcohol dementia or another alcohol-related disease. He black-outs, that is a serious sign that he is drinking way too much. My father died of alcohol-related myocardial infarction, my eldest brother died of pancreatitis and my youngest brother shows clear signs of having developed alcohol dementia. I think Koreas way too liberal view of alcohol is also a major concern. They drink twice more than Russians, so Korea is the leading nation of alcohol consumption and have major problems with alcoholism. High alcohol consumption is a problem even in my country ( Finland). Many people self-medicate them selfs with alcohol to relieve stress. It is a sad truth. I'm not trying to moralize here. I don't spit in the bottle, so to speak, but my drinking stops after at one or two glasses of wine with a meal. I don't really like alcohol because of my painful memories which are related to alcohol.

Merya L I lost my father too due to alcoholism about 8 months ago, but it wasnt because of health issues. He got into an accident because he was drunk while driving and he was drinking for several days before that. It was because they were celebrating the closing of an activity they had in a camp. He was always busy so I couldn't talk to him. I miss him so much :((

This dad is so similar to my uncle. He was lazy, only drinking all day long and he had terrible drinking habits, cussing to his wife and breaking things. They divorced in only a few years. Now my uncle doesn't drink anymore, and married again, his wife is happy with my hardworking uncle😊 I'm so shocked this mom can endured so much until now. Hang in there, mom!

I feel so sorry for him because he doesn't understand anything yet , he is so young . He got divorced 3 times already. Because of him i don't view marriage the same way people do and i don't think i trust guys. Honestly don't have kids in theses environments people.

Anastaciacl18 My son id the same way, he says he will be a loving caring father, since he never got that affection from his dad, just the abuse i suffered. No money, no family to help, small farm village no where to go. He views relationships as traps, or a fantasy, he can not have. It messes up a childs view point. He has a total of 6 siblings, i am glad we no longer are in that place any more.

I'm really sorry to say, but this problem can't be solved by just going on the show and talking. He's a full-blown alcoholic. He needs professional help and to go to rehab. I don't know if there is an Alcoholic's Anonymous in Korea seeing as drinking is deeply ingrained in the culture, but he really needs it. He also needs to get medically tested because he probably already has liver cirrhosis as evidenced by his nose bleed. As for his temper and the his despicable treatment of his wife (specially during her cancer battle) and his children, I think he needs counseling. He must have some deep seated issues, insecurities or resentments to treat them so badly. It's during issues like these that I wish this show had doctors (both medical and psychological) on call for consultation to make people realize how serious their problems are and start them on the road to change.

U dont see this as a concern. Why? Its part of their society. -Usually parents teach their kids to drink after they reach a certain age. -I saw one in this show they counculted a man to learn drinking so he can drink with his father in law, because that is what in laws are supposed to do. -men are considered manly and tough if they can tolerate drinking alot. - they have company dinners where employees are supposed ro drink together. So basically a person who dont drink are considered an outcast.

The man has a serious alcohol addiction. I think he will need professional help if he wants to get better. And if he throws around and breaks things in the house, I am worried he might hit his wife as well. Of course it doesn't mean he really does do that, but people who break things out of anger tend to hit people as well. And if he really hits her, I don't think the wife will say that on national tv...

Excuses. You don't say those hurtful words even under the influence of alcohol unless you've been thinking them to begin with. The thing though is once you said those words, no matter how much you regret, you can't take them back. The words are already out and damage to the other person has been done.

How scary. I lived in fear of my father because he beat us and broke furniture, and my door. He even threw me out of the house when I was in high school, and I had to find a place to stay at midnight. The next day I had to go to school and pretend nothing happened. 20 years later I still have nightmares. Even though it was maybe monthly, you had to walk on eggshells, even if you were good, you were in danger, it was enough to scar my memories and I always get scared of getting into trouble now. I feel for the son. I hope the family is ok, and it is best to move away from him. I cried a lot when I saw this episode.

The wife should just divorce this man as he doesn't show any signs of changing. It hurt when she mentioned how he was towards her when she was going through chemo for her breast cancer. That is when you need support from family the most, especially a partner. But this guy made fun of her looks and threatened to get another wife... I mean who TF say's such a thing. He should really consider going to rehab or join a support group if he is serious about changing his alcohol addiction. Because he has become fully dependent on alcohol and poses as a danger to his family... Such as him coming home, being verbally abusive and breaking stuff and not even remembering anything the next day.
