Archie and Betty when they are together they can not hide the truth from each other even if and when they tried they couldn't do it. Because they love each other and care for each other.

The only reason that Archie wasn’t with Betty the first time was because he always felt she was too good for him. And he meant it. But as the seasons continue, have you noticed, the times Archie has brought up their feelings for one another Betty always shuts it down so quickly, refusing to even fully comprehend what he has to say because she knows that as soon as she hears it - everything else - everyone else - will fall to the background and it’ll be just the two of them. All hearts and love. Part of her is also scared that it might not be real - that it’s a dream. I don’t blame her. She was burnt pretty hard in the beginning. That really hurt. So to be sure of their feelings, I would rather have that. They deserve that.
