That Expride rod looks like the action shuts off faster than the other rods you have been fishing. Congrats on the 126 beast, that 130+ is what keeps the motivation running.

I really enjoy your videos and find the livescope interesting, but I love to see a video without the live scope and see if you can catch a trothy fish without the aid of the sounder to show off your skills.

Hey mate, my two biggest and the majority of my 120's were all with standard sonar showing me where to fish but one 128 was also land-based. I can understand if people don't like live sonar but until you use it, you won't notice how much it shows you and also possibly hinders you at the same time. When i am guiding, i get the guests to cast. into an area and not watch the live, because if you are chasing a single fish on live, chances are your paths won't cross but if you just target an active area where they move (which is what side scan is for) then the guests have a better chance of meeting an active fish. The only thing i would do differently out in fairburn without live would be to run a lighter jighead so i know my lure is staying shallow enough to be around the fish. The fish are that close to the surface that side scan and 2d sonar won't see them, its only the guys that had or have 360 that are able to see the fish without live sonar.

@DeanSilvester thank you for replying. i really appreciate that, I find livescope interesting, but I just can't afford one. I think if I did more river fishing, I would possibly save up and buy one. I still love watching people catch fish using that technology. i find it fascinating. It's awesome that you caught monsters on the old school tech. My best fresh water barra was 115cm off the bank on ross River in Townsville after I had back surgery 😆 and my salt water barra 103 in the mighty Fitzroy River in rocky where I live now.

What a beast. I would give you much more credit if you were not using the livescope. Call me old fashioned but i dont agree with all the technology used nowadays.

haha thanks, mate, all good. Understand it's not for everybody. I am a tournament angler so i am always looking for ways to learn and improve and its been a steep learning curve with the live so still enjoying the process.

Gotta agree with you there mate … great technology but we’re loosing the sport of it … I know people who I hope never get one , the fish wouldn’t stand a chance sadly ..
