The clear lake native event was a bust. Gambled big time with a go big or go home mindset. Blanked and ended up going home. 😂 The season opener for OKBF was similar. I think there were 11 fish caught between 38 people and I was one of the 38 who didn’t catch one either! This was on a different lake the day before.

The amount of time you had that fish out of the water is dumb literally no reason for you to keep it that long. You catch take your picture and let her go. Not dip it in the water 5 times.

The amount of time is no different than anybody else catching a big fish to get a weight and photo. I just happen to take the time and let her actually get some water in between everything. It’s better than letting her sit out of the water for a long period of time if you think about it. You’ll be surprised how many people don’t even have the courtesy to do what I did. These fish are tough, they’re not sensitive like trout.

Nice fish, but you can't keep a fish out of the water that long. Think about holding your breath under water that long after you just exhausted yourself.

Totally get it. That’s one reason why I kept letting the fish back in the water in between getting a weight, length, and finally the release shot. All precautions were taken as documented in the video. You’ll be surprised how many people don’t even think to do the extra steps.
